Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 993

Falcon let out a mocking laugh. “You really think you can act tough now? You’re about to die.”

Connor lifted his gaze, eyes cold and steady. He stared at Falcon like he was already a corpse. “Are you so sure it’s us who’ll die tonight?”

The words had barely left his lips when a deep rumble echoed across the sky. At first, it was just a faint sound, like far-off thunder. In the blink of an eye, it grew louder, shaking the air.

Falcon and his crew glanced up in alarm. Their eyes went wide with disbelief.

Dozens of helicopters cut through the night, their metal bodies slicing the darkness as they raced toward the ship. Searchlights blazed from the choppers, sweeping over the ocean and flooding everything in harsh, white light. Shadows disappeared under the crisscrossing beams.

“That’s… that’s the Azure Alliance…” Falcon stammered, staring at the markings on the helicopters as they came closer. He looked like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

The Azure Alliance was legendary. Biggest, strongest, most mysterious mercenary group in the world. What were they doing here?

Funny thing was, Falcon had always been a die-hard fan. Too bad he wasn’t good enough for them. He’d even picked his own codename to sound like theirs, just to boost his street cred.

The helicopters hovered overhead, rotor blades whipping the sea into a frenzy of white foam. The noise was deafening, nearly drowning out the crashing waves. Ropes dropped down and, one after another, mercenaries in black gear slid down to the deck, moving with practiced ease. In seconds, Falcon and his men were completely surrounded.

Falcon’s legs gave out. He could barely stay upright.

“Connor… did you hire them?” His voice shook. As far as Falcon knew, regular people couldn’t just call in the Azure Alliance. Usually, you’d need a whole government backing you up.

But Connor was retired, just a businessman now. And this was international waters. How could he have managed this?

Lydia, feeling a little better after her medicine, leaned into Connor and glanced over the newcomers. Her eyes landed on someone she recognized.

Northruler. Theodore?

Connor had even brought Theodore here?

Connor didn’t bother answering Falcon. He gently picked Lydia up in his arms, his expression icy as he looked at Falcon’s terrified crew. “Take every single one of them. Break their hands and feet. Toss them in the ocean for the sharks.”

Anyone who hurt Lydia deserved to go to hell.

Falcon thought maybe Connor was bluffing, but the threat was too real. Panic set in.

“No! Wait, I’ll talk! Connor, please! I’ll tell you everything! The boy you’re looking for is still on the ship. We didn’t touch him, I swear!”

Falcon was so scared he actually wet himself. He cursed himself for ever making a deal with Greg. This was a nightmare, and he had only himself to blame.

Connor’s eyes turned even colder, his voice flat. “What else?”
