Chapter 101: Chapter 101 Who Got Screwed Over (Second Update)

"Uncle, drink some strong tea, I’ve added sugar to it as they say it helps with hangovers, but I’m not sure if it works." Tang Yue brought in the steaming hot tea.

Mo Siyu stood up, and the already small room seemed to shrink even further.

Holding the strong tea in front of her, Mo Siyu loomed like a wall of flesh blocking her path.

In Tang Mingli’s small room, Tang Yue looked up at Mo Siyu, seemingly asking ’why don’t you move aside’.

"I’m drunk too."

Before Tang Yue could react, Mo Siyu took the tea and drank it all in one gulp.

Tang Yue’s round eyes widened in astonishment, she involuntarily swallowed and asked, "Doesn’t it burn you?"

"It’s very late, I’ll take you home now." Mo Siyu moved forward.

Tang Yue kept stepping back, saying anxiously, "Uncle, you haven’t had your hangover tea yet, you’ll definitely have a headache tomorrow."

"I’ll take you home first." Mo Siyu relentlessly pushed Tang Yue back, locked the door, and carried out these actions swiftly.

Previously, with Tang Mingli in between, it was somewhat bearable, but now, with just the two of them left to go home, Tang Yue felt awkward and unsure of what to say, she said, "I can go home by myself, it’s fine."

"I’ll take you." Mo Siyu didn’t leave any room for Tang Yue to refuse, keeping the pace with her consistently.

In the dark night, she could even hear her own heartbeat clearly.

Originally, Tang Zhengde was supposed to pick up Tang Yue, but since Tang Mingli went for dinner too, Tang Zhengde was reassured knowing his younger brother was there, so he waited at the store for Tang Yue’s return.

He never expected Tang Mingli to be so drunk to the point of unconsciousness.

And Tang Yue was escorted home by Mo Siyu.

Tang Yue anxiously wished for the road home to speed up, even more so; staying with him any longer would likely suffocate her to death.

"Look, there’s a young girl."

"She’s really slim."

Not far away, a group of drunken men with colorful hair saw Tang Yue and unreservedly commented, and even eventually started walking closer, the stench of alcohol assaulting them.

This overwhelming odor was nauseating, and she couldn’t help covering her nose as the men grew increasingly bold. Even seeing Mo Siyu standing aside, they didn’t care, or perhaps the alcohol made them much bolder than usual.

"Young girl, have a drink with us."

"That’s right, we’ll treat you to drinks today."

"And we can invite you to sing."

"If you don’t want to, then don’t leave."

The men were thin, but as tall as Mo Siyu, or even a bit taller, holding a bottle of alcohol and pointing at them with a combative stance.

"Locked up for a few days, released afterwards. If they offend again, it will only get worse each time," Mo Siyu answered. He usually scorned dealing with these thugs.

"Oh." Tang Yue lowered her gaze, looking at the fate of these thugs, her mind filled with images of Tang Jun, who used to dye his hair blonde, thinking he looked cool with long hair, earrings and following his so-called elder brothers wasting days away.

She had stayed in Shenzhen later, rarely knowing about Tang Jun’s whereabouts. After their parents left, Xiao Jun, her only blood-related younger brother, gradually drifted from her heart amid impatience.

She thought, had she, in her previous life, not obstinately cared about saving face, refused to reach out to Xiao Jun, and had a good talk with him, perhaps their fates wouldn’t have ended up this way.

"What’s wrong?" Mo Siyu keenly felt something was off about her. Even though he couldn’t see her eyes, he could distinctly sense the change in her aura, her mood having also dipped.

"It’s nothing." Tang Yue lifted her head, revealing a sweet smile, suppressing the tears in her eyes, making her eyes watery. She said, "Mo... Uncle, things will get better for us."

"Huh?" Mo Siyu was a bit puzzled, not understanding why Tang Yue suddenly brought this up.

"Let’s go." Tang Yue strode forward with light steps, her slender figure moving briskly, the fleeting dip in her mood seeming like his illusion.

As they reached the alley’s entrance, Tang Yue stopped, looking down at her cloth shoes, and said, "You can leave me here. Uncle is drunk, please make him hangover tea, the sugar is in the second cabinet."

"He’s my classmate, and also my brother," Mo Siyu replied, not sure if he was responding to her statement or implying something else.

Tang Yue walked into the alley, her shadow elongated by the moonlight. Mo Siyu watched her enter the shop front before he reassuredly left.

"Mom and Dad, I’m going to Uncle’s place first, Uncle drank a lot yesterday," Tang Yue planned to make a detour to Tang Mingli’s before going to school.
