Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets novel Chapter 161

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: The Most Delicious (Four More)

"What do you like to eat?" Mo Siyu flipped through the menu, having tasted Tang Yue’s cooking before, but he really didn’t know what she liked to eat.

Tang Yue’s eyes spun playfully as she said, "Anything."

Mo Siyu understood and directly named seven or eight dishes.

’Pff~’

Tang Yue wanted to see how Mo Siyu would react to the "anything," but to her surprise, he ordered seven or eight dishes in one go.

Tang Yue quietly asked, "Is there anyone else joining us today?"

"Just the two of us," Mo Siyu glanced at the two sets of bowls and chopsticks on the table.

Tang Yue’s mouth twitched involuntarily, asking, "Can we finish seven or eight dishes? Isn’t that too wasteful?"

Yipin Inn, though not large, was exquisitely detailed everywhere, and the prices were certainly not cheap. For two people to order seven or eight dishes, even if they were wealthy, it still seemed wasteful.

Tang Yue silently pinched her small purse, which felt somewhat thin.

"No, not wasteful at all," Mo Siyu answered confidently.

Tang Yue thought the dishes here would be delicately small, but seeing the hearty portions, seven dishes and one soup, along with some seasonal fruits, the table was fully filled to the brim.

Tang Yue’s face darkened instantly, she glared at him and said, "Uncle Mo, don’t you know that wasting is shameful?"

"If I don’t do this, how would I know what you like or dislike?" Mo Siyu responded earnestly.

The anger Tang Yue felt before dissipated in an instant, she felt both amused and annoyed, her bright almond eyes looking at him as she said, "If you wanted to know what dishes I like, couldn’t you just ask?"

"Asking directly lacks sincerity," Mo Siyu’s mouth curved in a smile, adding charm in the elegant private room, complimenting her beautiful smile. The summer breeze from outside the window fluttered her hair, and her smiling eyes appeared even more radiant and charming.

Outside the window, there was a large lotus pond, but she was more delicate than the flowers.

Tang Yue’s smile deepened, she propped her chin with one hand and asked, "Uncle Mo, I always thought you were a very serious person."

Her gaze traced his handsome features; his deep eyes, focused on her, always made her heart race.

"You are different."

Mo Siyu’s unique voice, deep and penetrating.

Those three short words nearly made Tang Yue swoon on the spot. Tang Yue cleared her throat and sat up straight, feeling her body heat up, her heart pounding as if it could leap out, thundering at rocket speed.

’Thump thump thump thump thump’

Tang Yue didn’t dare to look up, she hung her head and shifted her attention, but unwittingly picked a piece of ginger.

Tang Yue hadn’t paid attention, aiming to divert her thoughts by focusing on enjoying the meal, but as the spicy ginger hit her mouth, it almost brought tears to her eyes.

With the ginger in her mouth, she could neither swallow it nor spit it out, her bright almond eyes misted over.

She just mentioned it casually, and Mo Siyu really went to pick lotus seeds?

What if the boss comes, will Mo Siyu be scolded?

Anxious, Tang Yue quickly stood up and walked to the edge of the lotus pond, fearing the boss might pop up unexpectedly from somewhere.

In the lotus pond, Mo Siyu was paddling towards the largest lotus seed; his tall frame squatting in the small boat looked somewhat uncoordinated, yet this odd view sent a wave of warmth through Tang Yue’s heart.

The once eloquent Wu Xinming never fulfilled a single promise he made.

"Xiao Yue, here," Mo Siyu extended freshly picked lotus seeds, his deep voice interrupting her thoughts.

"Now is the season to enjoy lotus seeds; give them a try."

"Thank you." Tang Yue took the large lotus seeds, which appeared to be the largest from the pond; she broke one seed open with her pale fingers, peeled off the shell, removed the bitter heart, and tasted the fresh, sweet flavor of the young seed.

"This is the tastiest lotus seed I’ve ever had in my life." Tang Yue looked up slightly, her smile spontaneously brightening.

Not far away, Chu Hong heard that Mo Siyu had come to the inn and brought a young girl with him; he dropped everything immediately after lunch and rushed over, catching this scene.

The girl in the white dress looking upwards, and Mo Siyu looking down, locking eyes with a smile, his eyes showing a remarkably tender fondness.

This scene long lingered in Chu Hong’s mind, who once thought love was futile, now started to believe in love.
