Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets novel Chapter 69

Chapter 69: Chapter 69 This is My Mom

"Tang Yue, Miss Tang."

Mo Xiaolin walked up excitedly.

Tang Yue, stunned like a wooden chicken, watched as the attractive woman approached her with an enthusiastic gaze.

Not only was her gaze enthusiastic, but she herself was enthusiastic too.

Before Tang Yue could react, Mo Xiaolin had already familiarly greeted her, saying, "Tang Yue, are you in Senior High School at Wangjiang First Middle School?"

"Yes." Tang Yue nodded. The woman in front of her seemed vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t recall where she had seen her before.

"I heard that you ranked first in your grade, you really are smart," Mo Xiaolin complimented as she observed Tang Yue up close, indeed a beauty in the making.

With almond-shaped eyes that sparkled brightly, and her attractive oval face seemed as if it could squeeze out water, not only was her appearance outstanding, but her figure was also remarkably graceful. She stood there, making one feel genuinely fond of her.

"Auntie, don’t say that, it’s just good luck," Tang Yue modestly said.

Unassuming and composed, Mo Xiaolin liked her even more and warmly invited, "Xiao Yue, my house is right next to the school, feel free to come over when you have time."

From Miss Tang, to Tang Yue, to Xiao Yue, Mo Xiaolin’s progression in addressing her showed how much she liked Tang Yue.

"Ah..." Tang Yue looked somewhat bewilderedly at the woman before her, struggling to remember – could it be that after her rebirth, she had forgotten this beautiful relative?

Why couldn’t she remember who she really was?

"Xiaolin, don’t scare the young lady," Zheng Chunhong intervened, coming forward to pull Mo Xiaolin.

Mo Xiaolin smiled and said, "I’m just happy, you see. This naughty boy, he has a crush and didn’t even tell me."

"Mom, what are you thinking about," Mo Siyu stood tall nearby, without a chance to speak. His eyes fell on Tang Yue’s puzzled face, feeling somewhat more cheerful as he introduced, "Tang Yue, this is my mom, this lady is my aunt, and this is my classmate Tang Mingli’s niece, Tang Yue."

This is my mom.

A ’thunder’ struck in Tang Yue’s mind, she couldn’t help but swallow and asked, "Auntie, are you Uncle Mo’s mom?"

Uncle Mo?

Mo Xiaolin glanced at Mo Siyu and, smilingly, said to her, "Xiao Yue, from now on just call him Si Yu, calling him Uncle Mo makes Si Yu sound old, doesn’t it?"

After a while, Tang Yue finally understood where that weird feeling came from.

Aunt Mo seemed to have misunderstood something.

Tang Yue quickly explained, "Aunt Mo, you are mistaken, I, I, I..."

Facing Mo Xiaolin’s enthusiastic gaze, she found herself unable to complete her explanation, feeling her face heating up fiercely. Part of her was remembering the past life, hearing the drunken Mo Siyu reminiscing about his deceased mother, while on the other part was Mo Xiaolin’s smiling and passionately warm face right before her.

Tang Yue awkwardly greeted and then fled in disarray.

The young girl really couldn’t take a joke.

In her rush to get home and sort out her thoughts, she completely failed to notice her Third Aunt.

"Ouch." Third Aunt Tang Zhenghong bumped into the side doorway, crying out in pain, "Who is it? Don’t you look where you’re going? How did you not see such a big person?"

Tang Zhenghong, clutching her waist in pain, wished she could tear the person who bumped into her apart.

Tang Zhenghong’s voice was sharp and thin, as if yelling with a pinched throat. Tang Yue staggered several steps backward before stabilizing herself. She hadn’t expected anyone to be at home; when she left, her parents had gone to visit other neighbors for New Year’s greetings.

Tang Yue lifted her head, and seeing Tang Zhenghong, she didn’t recognize her for a moment.

"Isn’t this the Second Brother’s foster daughter? Where are your eyes? Don’t you look where you’re walking?" Tang Zhenghong pointed at Tang Yue’s nose and scolded.

Her disdainful attitude instantly reminded Tang Yue who she was. Third Aunt Tang Zhenghong, also her father’s younger sister, married to Qingshui Town, her two sons, Chen Gang and Chen Lie, particularly liked to tease her.

"What’s all this?" Tang Zhengde, hearing Tang Zhenghong’s scolding, quickly came out of the house, only to see Tang Yue standing there dumbfounded. He hurriedly asked, "Xiao Yue, are you alright? Did you hurt yourself?"

"Second Brother, it’s me who got hurt." Tang Zhenghong, clutching her waist and massaging it, said, "She’s too rude. She bumped into someone and did not even apologize."

"Zhenghong, Xiao Yue didn’t see you either, right? She’s still a child, let’s not make a big deal out of it." Tang Zhengde always protected Tang Yue.

Zhenghong discontentedly said, "She’s already in Senior High School, still a child? Second Brother, no offense, but she’s not even your biological daughter. After all the effort of raising her, who knows who will benefit from it? Why bother spending money on her high school?"

The look on Tang Zhengde’s face immediately darkened as he retorted, "In my heart, Xiao Yue is my own daughter." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Forget about it, she isn’t even willing to call you dad." Tang Zhenghong spat out irritably, showing no consideration that Tang Yue was right there: "Heating a stone in a latrine will try to warm it up."
