Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets novel Chapter 778

Chapter 778: Chapter 778: How Did I Turn Into a Little Pig?

"Alright, after the New Year, if you come to Sea City, remember to come find your auntie," Lian Tong said, who really liked her niece and naturally wanted to get closer.

Tang Yue agreed without hesitation.

After seeing off Lian Tong’s family, the house suddenly became quiet. Meng Siyu cleaned up the house and let Tang Yue sit on the sofa to watch TV for a while.

When Meng Siyu finished tidying up the house, he saw Tang Yue curled up asleep on the sofa, with last year’s Spring Festival Gala still playing on the television.

"If you’re tired, sleep a bit more."

Meng Siyu gently kissed her forehead, and Tang Yue uncomfortably shifted her body.

Meng Siyu laughed softly and covered her with a small blanket to keep her from catching a cold.

At night, when Tang Yue woke up, she smelled the aroma of dumplings.

The dumplings that weren’t finished at noon, Meng Siyu boiled two bowls of them, just enough for the two of them.

"Why did I fall asleep again?" Tang Yue rubbed her eyes, dazed. She seemed to get sleepy so easily these days.

"You fell asleep watching TV. I took less than half an hour to clean the kitchen, and you were sleeping like a little pig." Meng Siyu brought the dumplings to her and said, "Tonight we’ll eat dumplings, and from now on, as husband and wife, we will be together in a harmonious and beautiful life."

"Mhm." Tang Yue looked at the fragrant dumplings, and her stomach started singing its hungry song.

After devouring ten dumplings, Tang Yue still felt hungry, and she looked eagerly at the dumplings in Meng Siyu’s bowl.

Meng Siyu laughed and gave her a few more, saying, "Xiao Yue, you’ve been eating so much lately, how come you’re not gaining any weight?"

Tang Yue had just bitten into half a dumpling and stopped, with the dumpling still in her mouth, unable to eat it or speak, staring at him with her bright eyes.

What’s wrong with eating a bit more delicious food during the New Year?

"Go ahead and eat, you won’t get fat anyway." Meng Siyu gave her another dumpling to fill her up some more.

"I’m so full." Tang Yue patted her round belly, feeling like she had eaten fifteen dumplings.

"Are you full?"

Tang Yue asked retrospectively.

"Of course. In a little while, the Spring Festival Gala will start. Don’t you like watching it?" Meng Siyu cleaned up the bowls and chopsticks and came over early to accompany Tang Yue to watch the Spring Festival Gala.

"It would be great if Xie Ni could perform on next year’s Spring Festival Gala, wearing our Star Bright clothes," Tang Yue said expectantly. Although the Spring Festival Gala was not as impressive as in the future eras, it still had its own era’s charm. Besides, having her beloved one beside her made it even more enjoyable for Tang Yue.

"There will be a chance." Meng Siyu held her in his arms. He didn’t really like to watch it, but since his little wife liked it, Meng Siyu naturally wanted to accompany her.

Two people in love could feel happiness even just watching TV together.

Tang Yue nestled against his shoulder, occasionally laughing out loud or chatting.

"Your favorite sketch is on," Meng Siyu said, referring to a comedy sketch that Tang Yue usually enjoyed.

But, Tang Yue didn’t react at all.

"Wife?"

Meng Siyu called her.

Tang Yue didn’t respond.

"Wife?"

"..."

Meng Siyu carefully stroked Tang Yue, only to realize that Tang Yue had... fallen asleep again.

"I don’t mind."

Meng Siyu coaxed Tang Yue and was finally satisfied with his feast.

By the time they finished breakfast and went to Grandma Gu’s house for New Year’s greetings, it was already ten o’clock.

Tang Yue looked helplessly at Meng Siyu; if it weren’t for his early morning antics, they wouldn’t have arrived so late.

Lian Tong and Gu Chun were busy at home, and Grandma Gu, wearing new clothes, looked very festive. She was all smiles, having prepared red envelopes for Tang Yue.

"Thank you, Grandma Gu." Tang Yue accepted the red envelopes with a cheerful smile and greeted Gu Chun and Lian Tong for the New Year.

Gu Chun and Lian Tong each gave her a red envelope.

Each person’s red envelope contained 666, signifying smooth and fortunate progress, a wish for good luck.

Tang Yue happily accepted the red envelopes and after sharing a meal at Gai Family’s house, it dawned on her that Gu Chun was quite good at cooking.

The couple went back home after eating.

In Jin City, apart from Lian Tong and the others, there weren’t many acquaintances. Qin Anhao made a wasted trip in the morning and simply decided to visit Meng Siyu’s home on the second day of the New Year, happily helping himself to the meal, and prepared to discuss business matters with Meng Siyu.

Tang Yue nestled on the sofa working on her drafts. Taking advantage of not having to visit relatives all over Jin City, Tang Yue had accumulated a lot of drawings, and once she returned to Jing City, she would be busy once again.

When Meng Siyu and Qin Anhao came out, Tang Yue had fallen asleep again. Meng Siyu kept watching her, feeling somewhat worried. Recently, Tang Yue seemed to sleep a lot—could there be a problem?

"I’m fine, maybe just tired and wanting to sleep." Tang Yue grabbed his hand and said, "It’s the New Year, I’m fine, and you’re not allowed to mention the hospital."

"I won’t, I won’t." Meng Siyu caressed her nose and asked: "Wife, how about you leave on the tenth?"

"No way." Tang Yue refused: "I need to go back early to celebrate with my parents, and with two uncles, it will take a few days. We’ll also have to return to Jing City. If I wait until the tenth to leave, wouldn’t it be too late?"
