Chapter 1232: 303: Priceless Treasure!_6
Three girls were drinking tea and cracking sunflower seeds, having a great time.
“How about we play Fight the Landlord?” Zhao Yu suggested.
Du Jiaojiao nodded, “Sure, sure! I’ll have someone bring the poker cards right away.”
Sure enough, a servant soon brought over the poker cards.
Playing Fight the Landlord for money was no fun, so Ni Yang suggested drawing turtles as stakes.
Drawing turtles meant to literally draw turtles on the face, one stroke per loss, a stroke for each loss.
Du Jiaojiao said, “That sounds interesting! Whoever loses has to own up, no cheating, okay!”
While shuffling the cards, Zhao Yu said, “On the battlefield, there’s no kinship; Mom, if you’re the landlord later, don’t blame me for not showing mercy!”
Ni Yang pinched her fingers, “Who will lose and who will win is not certain yet!”
In the first round, Du Jiaojiao was the landlord. Under the concerted efforts of Ni Yang and Zhao Yu, Du Jiaojiao was defeated!
Thus, Du Jiaojiao’s face gained a tiny turtle head and an incomplete eye.
The second round was still Du Jiaojiao being the landlord.
This time, Du Jiaojiao turned defeat into victory, and drew a circle on both Ni Yang and Zhao Yu’s faces respectively.
Ni Yang really didn’t expect her card skills to be this bad…
She thought she was a gambling saint.
Turns out, she’s just an ordinary person…
If she had known, she wouldn’t have agreed to draw turtles!
Half an hour passed, and Ni Yang’s face successfully sported a cute little turtle, though Du Jiaojiao’s and Zhao Yu’s faces weren’t much better off.
The three were having such a blast that they didn’t even notice someone entering the Tea Room.
Master Du was stunned when he came in, “What are you all… doing?”
Drawing turtles on your face for fun?
“We’re playing cards!” Du Jiaojiao continued, “Come over and help me see how I should play these cards! I’m the landlord this round!”
Master Du leaned over.
With a sly smile, Ni Yang said, “One can tell a gentleman by his words, and the same goes for playing cards. Brother Du, you should consider carefully!”
“My mom is right!” nodded Zhao Yu in agreement.
Master Du slightly lifted his eyes, only then noticing that Ni Yang also had a little turtle on her face. Her delicate features remained unaffected by the turtle, which added a bit of charm instead.
Against a backdrop of the starry sky, a dense tree sheltered a Bonfire at its base, with a person lying indistinctly on its branches, concealed by the leaves so that their figure and face couldn’t be clearly discerned, with locks of hair cascading down through the leaves.
A very beautiful painting; even though the person’s face was obscured, it was easy to imagine that the owner of the hair must be a great beauty.
“What a beautiful painting!” exclaimed Zhao Yu in amazement.
Master Du glanced back slightly, only to discover Zhao Yu standing behind him. He casually rolled up the painting, “I think it’s beautiful, too.”
Zhao Yu was somewhat speechless, “Why are you in such a hurry to put away such a beautiful painting? Let me appreciate it a bit longer!”
Master Du curved his lips slightly, “I bought this painting at the Auction House three years ago for a hefty sum, and it’s very valuable. With your clumsy hands, what if you damage it?”
“How much was it?” Zhao Yu was curious.
“Priceless,” Master Du replied in a calm tone, but his eyes were very serious.
Zhao Yu waved her hand, “Since it’s so valuable, you better keep it safe! I really couldn’t afford it if I were to damage it!”
Master Du casually placed the painting on a shelf, “Why are you looking for me so late?”
Zhao Yu chuckled sheepishly, a bit embarrassed to say it out loud.
Master Du opened a drawer, took out a beautiful silk pouch, and tossed it to Zhao Yu, “Take it.”
Zhao Yu was overjoyed, “Thank you, Master Du! I’m going back now, good night! Sweet dreams!”
