By the time Lucian and Alina stepped out of the room, the soft golden hue of evening light was spilling through the suite’s windows.

Their hair was a little tousled, their clothes freshly changed, but the languid ease in their movements spoke volumes of how they had spent their day,hours of making love, catching up, and sleeping away the lingering tension between them.

Talia, who had been lounging on the couch with her laptop open and Ace standing nearby, let out an exaggerated, relieved sigh.

“Finally,” she drawled, shutting the lid of her laptop with a snap. “I was starting to think you two had decided to move in there permanently.”

Alina’s brows rose, her voice carrying a hint of surprise.

“You’re here?”

Talia smirked. “This is my suite, where else would I be?” Her gaze flickered over Alina, zeroing in on the scattering of faint hickeys trailing down her neck. A slow, sly smile curved her lips.

Lucian didn’t bother responding to Talia’s teasing. Without so much as a glance in her direction, he strode toward Ace, his tone brisk.

“Did you go through the file on Jessica?”

Ace gave a curt nod and reached for a manila folder resting on the table. “Yeah. Here, I printed it out.” He flipped it open, papers rustling as he began to scan them again.

While the men’s focus was elsewhere, Talia slid off the couch and hooked her arm through Alina’s, steering her a few steps away. She leaned in close, her voice dropping into a mischievous whisper.

“With how long you two were at it, I’m surprised you can still walk straight.”

Alina shot her a warning look, though the corners of her lips twitched despite herself. “Talia…”

“What?” Talia grinned shamelessly. “Honestly, you were silly for ever thinking he and Jessica could’ve done anything in that short window. Considering Lucian’s stamina-” she wiggled her brows “-trust me, he wouldn’t have wasted it on her.”

“Yeah, I guess I was being silly” Alina admitted.

“So I take it you both are good now? I mean you can’t be not good considering how long you both spent in there.”

Alina rolled her eyes but a faint blush colored her cheeks. “We’re fine now. Obviously.”

“Good,” “Talia said with a note of satisfaction. “I wasn’t happy seeing you all sad and shut down like that.”

Alina’s voice softened, “Thank you for everything. For helping me make sure we were good again.”

She becomes the personal assistant to some big shot, tries to worm her way into his bed. When that doesn’t work, she starts taking money, company secrets, whatever she can get her hands on. Alina’s brows knitted. “Sets them up how?”

Talia’s voice turned grim. “Once, she accused a CEO she worked for of rape because he wouldn’t give her what she wanted. Nearly ruined the man before the truth came out. She’s calculated, manipulative… and dangerous.”

Alina’s stomach turned. “So she’s not just after Lucian, she’s capable of destroying everything in the process.”

“I’ll love to see her try.” Lucian’s words were cold and dangerous.

“Exactly,” Talia said firmly. “Which means you need to be careful while dealing with her. The question is- her eyes shifted between Alina and Lucian “-how do you plan on handling her?”

Lucian’s voice was low, edged with a dangerous calm that made the room feel smaller. “Left for me, I’d have her arrested… or handle her myself.”

Everyone in the room knew exactly what he meant by handling it himself. No one dared to speak–until he added, “But Alina wants to do things differently.”

All eyes shifted to her.

Alina straightened, the glint in her eyes sharp with purpose. “Here’s the plan. Lucian, you’re going to act like things between us are still… not okay. Distant. Cold. And you-” her gaze flicked toward him with deliberate weight “-will start being nice to Jessica.”

His jaw tightened. “That’s because you tricked me into it.”

Lucian’s eyes darkened with memory, and a slow, knowing smirk touched his lips. “Don’t act like you do not remember that thing you did with your mouth-”

Talia groaned loudly, clearing her throat with theatrical disgust. “Oh for the love of God! Can you both please….spare us. Some of us will rather not be scarred by your sexcapades. Can we not hear the details of what you two do behind closed doors and actually focus on the issue at hand? Thank you very much.

Alina gave a sheepish little smile, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. “Right… sorry.”

She leaned forward again, voice regaining its sharp focus. “As I was saying-”

Alina leaned back against the arm of the chair, her gaze steady on Lucian. “The reason I want you to be nice to Jessica,” she began, her voice measured but sharp at the edges, “is so she doesn’t suspect anything and doesn’t pull a fast one on us before we get the chance to expose her.”

Lucian’s jaw flexed, but he didn’t interrupt.

“We still need to figure out if she’s already done any damage to your company,” Alina continued, “and if she’s working with anybody.”

Ace, standing with his hands loosely clasped in front of him, gave a single nod. “Makes sense. I’ll look into that.”

Before he could say more, Talia, perched casually on the arm of the sofa, cut in with a small, knowing smile. “Way ahead of you. When I ran the background check on Jessica, I found out she’s been sleeping with both the HR manager and the head of accounts. That should be a good place to start digging.”

Lucian’s expression twisted in mild disgust. Ace frowned, flipping mentally through his files. “But that’s not in the report.”

“I didn’t think it was necessary to add who she was sleeping with.” Talia replied, brushing an invisible speck of dust from her sleeve.

Lucian’s eyes darkened instantly. “Then HR and the head of accounts should be fired. Immediately.”

“No.” Alina interjected quickly, her tone firm.
