The bystanders who were preparing to board the vehicles couldn’t watch any longer, and someone stepped forward to help her to her feet.
But Zhang Xueyan was truly selfish. Although someone kindly helped her, she discarded them like a used crutch once she no longer needed them. After regaining her balance, she violently shook off the person’s hand and even had the audacity to say, "Mind your own business."
This infuriated Ge Lizhong from the props team. He had kindly helped someone but, instead of gratitude, received a scolding in front of everyone, which made his expression turn exceedingly sour.
After watching for a while, Yunyi lost interest and returned to her spot.
Murong Linna came running back with a smirk. "Zhang Xueyan has really made a fool of herself this time! And to think, someone helped her with such good intentions, yet she had to be so difficult. Truly unappreciative of kindness."
Just as she was gleefully gossiping, she heard someone yelling through a megaphone from somewhere below, "Everyone, hurry up and get on the bus! We’re leaving promptly at nine!"
People were too busy scrambling onto the vehicles to discuss what had just happened.
Soon, all the film crew members had boarded their transport. Those who got on early managed to find actual seats; those who were later had to settle for any available space on the floor. Some, finding the ride too bumpy, placed their bags beneath them to lessen the discomfort.
Due to the snowfall in the Northeast, the convoy moved slowly. It took a whole day and night just to cross the Northeast Border. The constant jostling along the way gave Yunyi a profound understanding of how arduous travel was for people in the last century.
Each long-haul vehicle had two drivers who took turns. Meals were also eaten on board to save time. They were truly pushing themselves to make good time.
Fortunately, Yunyi had her spatial inventory. Plus, with a thick tarp covering the top of the truck bed where she was, she could occasionally treat herself to extra food; otherwise, the journey would have been unbearable.
During the trip, the vehicles stopped a few times to let everyone get out and stretch. Most people looked listless. Of course, a few adapted well, but they were in the minority.
Yunyi didn’t step in to help. After all, who carries a large supply of medicine with them when they travel?
Zhang Xueyan was so furious her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, but Yunyi couldn’t have cared less about her.
However, feeling it wouldn’t be right to completely ignore the situation, Yunyi got off her vehicle. She found the people in charge, who were in the middle of a discussion. "Leaders," she addressed them, "this can’t continue. We need to find a place for everyone to rest and recuperate.
"Also, we should find a way to cook some millet porridge. We can’t keep eating food that irritates the stomach; otherwise, the diarrhea will only get worse.
"Furthermore, people can try massaging the ’diarrhea point.’ This acupoint isn’t hard to find. It’s located on the top of the foot, about two centimeters inward from the webbing between the big toe and the second toe.
"Pressing this acupoint firmly can help provide some relief."
