Hearing the crying of the children inside, everyone was anxious and distressed. Such a significant issue had reached a deadlock.
Tang Haiyang, in order to stabilize them, said, "Okay, I will immediately send someone to negotiate with the higher-ups. I ask you to keep your promise not to harm the children before noon the day after tomorrow."
There was no response from inside; instead, a roar was heard, "Shut the hell up!"
With that commotion, the other two children inside the cave also woke up.
Xie Jiabao, Tang Haiyang’s nephew, might have been spoiled at home, but he was quite smart. Despite being scared to death, he still pulled the sleeve of the crying child, cautiously reminding, "Stop crying, or they might hit us." Upon hearing a familiar voice and also fearing a beating, the child managed to stop crying.
Tang Haiyang sent people down and stayed there himself to stall the man with the scar, wanting to remain as close as possible to his nephew in case something went wrong.
After surveying the area, Yunyi started to assess the surrounding environment. She realized that what they thought was a cave wasn’t really one. There was just an opening on one side, and it was open-air above, which made things much easier.
She had discarded the makeshift bow and arrows she had fashioned earlier.
She went over to Huo Jingrui and whispered a few words to him. Then, she whispered to Tang Haiyang, telling him he must keep the people inside stable for the time being.
She quickly reached a tree near the cave entrance and climbed up nimbly. Her smooth ascent, akin to a monkey’s agility, startled the men below.
She climbed the tree to provide cover for her spiritual power. After all, without climbing, she wouldn’t know the situation on the other side. Using the moonlight and her extraordinary senses, she was indeed able to see inside the cave.

They must have scouted this place in advance, Tang Haiyang realized. One side is a cliff, and the other has no path, making encirclement impossible, especially since the three children are still their captives. I, too, had initially assumed it was a cave. The realization that it was an open-air one, however, means it presents a definite opportunity!
