Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant novel Chapter 471

Chapter 471: Chapter 471: The Stall is Occupied

When they arrived at the train station, someone was already waiting for them.

Before they even drew near, Huo Jingrui whispered to Yunyi, "That’s Guo Qiming. I saved his life once during a mission, and we became friends."

As the two approached, he introduced her to the man, "This is my fiancée, Chuyunyi."

The man’s eyes lit up with a gossipy glint at Huo Jingrui’s introduction. However, deterred by Huo Jingrui’s warning glance, he didn’t dare to be presumptuous. "Hello, Sister-in-law," he said. "I’m Guo Qiming."

Yunyi, upon hearing this form of address, wanted to say something. Considering she and Jingrui were ultimately going to end up together, she decided not to refute it. She simply smiled in response, "Hello."

After getting the tickets, Huo Jingrui passed the money to him, but Guo Qiming pushed it back. "If it weren’t for you back then, I wouldn’t even be alive," Guo Qiming said. "It’s just two tickets; do we really need to be so precise about the cost?"

Huo Jingrui, however, stuffed the money into his hand. "Even close brothers settle accounts clearly," he said. "This is separate. If you don’t take this money, I won’t ask you for help in the future." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Since Huo Jingrui had put it that way, Guo Qiming had no choice but to accept the money.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, the two bid farewell to Guo Qiming and headed for the ticket gate. The ticket inspection was nearly over, and if they didn’t hurry, they would miss the train.

There was one advantage, though: they didn’t have to squeeze through a crowd. Hurrying through the ticket checkpoint, they jogged towards the platform.

Guo Qiming had bought them sleeper car tickets so they could rest well on the train.

When they boarded the train and found their compartment, someone was already lying in one of the berths. Huo Jingrui was about to wake the person, but Yunyi stopped him with a look, subtly gesturing towards a conductor nearby.

Indeed, Yunyi disliked trouble. Anyone brazen enough to occupy someone else’s berth was likely not easy to deal with. It would be better to let the professionals handle it.

Just then, the conductor approached. Huo Jingrui stepped forward to explain the situation. The conductor walked up to the person on the middle berth and nudged them awake. "Wake up," the conductor said. "Ticket inspection."

Groggily raising his head, the man asked, "Weren’t our tickets already checked?"

At that moment, the man glanced down the corridor and saw Huo Jingrui and Yunyi standing outside. He had wanted to cause a scene, but the cold look in Huo Jingrui’s eyes sent a chill down his spine. He muttered under his breath, "Just my luck."

He had heard from others that sometimes, after buying a hard-seat ticket, one could sneak into a sleeper car for a berth. He just hadn’t expected to be kicked out the first time he tried it.
