Huo Jingrui, upon hearing Yunyi’s question, had a gentle look in his eyes. "I’m not too clear about what’s inside. My mother was the one who packed it, and she asked me to bring it to you."
Yunyi looked abruptly at Huo Jingrui. "You told your family about me returning to Beijing?"
Huo Jingrui said smugly, "Of course."
He knew that if he didn’t take action, this young lady probably wouldn’t have had the initiative to visit her in-laws in Beijing on her own.
Seeing the smile curling at the corners of his mouth, Yunyi knew what he was thinking. Feeling a bit guilty, she said, "I was thinking it wouldn’t be too late to meet them when I’m of marrying age."
With that, the two entered the house.
After setting down the items in his hands, Huo Jingrui rested his hands on Yunyi’s shoulders. "Yi’er, if I hadn’t regained my memory, it would have been another matter. But considering our current relationship, meeting the in-laws naturally cannot be postponed. I’ve already decided that on your eighteenth birthday, we will go and register our marriage. Besides, my marriage application has been approved, and our status has been reviewed by the organization. Do you have other ideas, hmm?"
Seeing him like this, Yunyi couldn’t help but laugh. "Alright, I get it. It’s just that I’m not quite mentally prepared yet, right?"
Huo Jingrui raised his hand and lightly flicked her nose. "Don’t worry, my mom has been looking forward to meeting you. Besides, you have me for everything. What’s there to worry about?"
Yunyi thought it made sense. After all, she would have to meet them sooner or later. She wasn’t lacking in any aspect. The most important thing was that Huo Jingrui only wanted her. What was there to worry about?
If they did cause trouble, she would just run away with their son.
Having realized this, she spoke with a hint of coyness, "Fine, you handle the arrangements, and I’ll just go, okay?"
Huo Jingrui, having achieved his goal, had an even deeper smile. "Thank you for your understanding, Yi’er."
They had just sent a package not long ago, and now here was all this again—all good stuff. Were they that worried she would kick their son to the curb?
After saying this, she sensed something was off about her statement. Before she could react, she heard Huo Jingrui’s soft voice, "For me, it’s because it’s you, and only you. My mom naturally feels the same, because I wouldn’t fall for anyone else."
Upon hearing this, Yunyi’s smile blossomed. "You sure have a way with words."
Huo Jingrui handed the cashmere sweater to Yunyi. "Try it on. My mom said if you don’t like the color, you can still exchange it."
Yunyi took it but didn’t try it on. Instead, she held it up against herself to check the size. "No need to exchange it. I like this color."
She could tell this was carefully chosen by her future mother-in-law. Besides, she genuinely liked the color. "That said, we should arrange the visit to your house before we leave."
Huo Jingrui didn’t quite understand. "Why?"
