Chapter 159
Seeing Wette with her hair completely cut off, crying and whining like a baby, Jonathan felt even more disgusted with her.
Sophia took a sip of juice, smiling happily. “This thing has hurt me a lot. Now, let’s talk about paying me back, okay?”
Wette cried loudly through hei tears. “Sophia, I didn’t do any of those things! You just hate me, You stabbed my leg with a knife–look at this blood, it hurts so much. You were trying to kill me.”
Her voice was no longer soft and gentle, but sharp and loud, giving Jonathan a terrible headache. “Shut up!” he yelled.
Yvette looked at Jonathan in shock, her voice trembling. “Dad, just look at me! My hair’s gone—she beat the up and stabbed me with a knife. Why are you still on her side? Why?”
Jonathan was really annoyed by her constant talking back. Looking at the once kind and careful Yvette, his eyes showed disgust.
He said, “Yvette, you used to be such a good girl. Why do you keep making such bad choices now? I’m really disappointed in you.”
Yvette was totally stunned. “I didn’t do anything! Can’t you see how badly I’m hurt?” she cried.
Yvette shouted, “Why do you always believe Sophia instead of me? She wasn’t like this before. Why don’t you scold her?”
Facing Yvette’s accusations and Sophia’s mocking look, Jonathan rubbed his temples, annoyed. “Sophia was fine before. It’s only after you came back that she changed.”
Jonathan said, “Didn’t I tell you not to goad Sophia? You didn’t listen. Now you’ll have to face the consequences.”
Sophia nodded. “Exactly. It’s not just me–everyone has changed. And we all know why–because you’re a jinx!”
She straightened up, making herself look righteous as she criticized Yvette.
Sophia said, “Look at the mess you made of this family. You still have the nerve to talk back? As part of the Chandler family, you destroy the family’s reputation and hurt the people who cared for you most!
“You’re a jinx! Howard got disfigured because of you. Look at Jonathan, his hair’s almost all white from stress. And Heather? She looks ten years older.
“Yvette, aren’t you always the smart, caring, gentle, kind one? Can’t you see the disaster you caused? How much longer do you plan to keep dragging the Chandler family down?”
Yvette totally lost control, screaming loudly, “I’m not a jinx–you are!”
Jonathan looked at Yvette, who was throwing a fit. Because of what Sophia had said earlier, he felt even more disgusted. ‘She’s just trouble. Even though Sophia was crazy, at least her madness served a purpose,‘ he thought.-
Heather touched her own face; she really looked ten years older.
Sophia sneered, her eyes shining with mockery. “Don’t think you can fool everyone by pretending, Yvette. No way.”
Sophia said, “Jonathan, you’re her dad. Tell me, how are you going to pay me back for all the emotional pain I’ve gone through?” It was like she had “Pay up” tattooed on her forehead.
Still crying, Yvette shouted, “I’ll call the police!”
Jonathan, dizzy from her crying, yelled, “We’re family. Why call the police? Haven’t you caused enough trouble already?” He reached for his phone to transfer money to Sophia without thinking.
Just then, Jonathan’s phone rang. He answered impatiently and snapped at Sophia, “Have your mom send the money to you.” Jonathan walked away without another word, holding his phone to his ear.

Heather rushed after him, calling out, “Jonathan, wait!“,
Jonathan snapped impatiently, “I’m working so hard out there, and you can’t even confrol your daughter. Get Yvette under control and son har e causing more trouble!”
His words nearly made Heather lose it. Watching everything happen, Sophia couldn’t hide her happiness. “Heather, pay up, she said,
With red eyes, Heather started, “Sophia, your father-”
Sophia cut her off, “Pay up.”
After she vented her anger and took the money, Sophia stormed out of the Chandler residence and went straight to the hospital to see Mira, who was being looked after by Freya, Caius’s grandma.
Both Mira and Freya looked up surprised when Sophia came in. Mira asked, “Ms. Chandler, what brings you here?”
Sophia brought some fruit and health supplements, put them on the table, and said, “Yandel told me you were in the hospital, so I thought I’d drop by and see you.”
When she mentioned Yandel’s name, a flicker of hope appeared in Mira’s cloudy eyes, but it faded quickly, leaving her eyes full of tears.
Freya greeted Sophia kindly and said, “Yandel is really a good kid–he knows how to show thanks. Before he left, he gave us his number. He even arranged Mira’s stay here.”
Freya looked at Mira, who really wanted to see Yandel. But he couldn’t come, so the mood became heavy and tense.
Sophia looked at Mira, noticing she looked even thinner than before. Sophia pulled out her phone and said, “Yandel asked me to come see you and take some photos to send him.”
کے
Sophia quickly snapped several pictures. Surprised, Mira raised her hand and weakly said, “Please, don’t send to him—”
Freya gently stopped her, “What’s the harm? Since Yandel cares about you, just let Ms. Chandler take the photos.”
After she finished, Sophia didn’t stay long and left. But on her way out, she asked Mira’s doctor for advice.
The doctor said, “Mira’s healing depends mostly on resting and taking it easy–she shouldn’t overwork herself. I suggest seeing a herbalist to help get her energy back.”
After thanking the doctor, Sophia sent the doctor’s words and some photos to Yandel. He called her right away. “Thanks,” Yandel said, happy and grateful.
Sophia snapped, “Don’t thank me, you useless trash.
“If you want Mira to live longer, you’d better make sure she has a good place to stay and is properly cared for.
“Can’t come yourself? Then hire someone! You gave me 300 thousand–yet you can’t even find a decent place for Mira? Face it, you’re just trash. Don’t even try to deny it.
“You’ve been back this long and done nothing. You’re useless.”
The word “trash” kept echoing in Yandel’s mind. Though it hurt, he didn’t dare talk back. “I know,” he muttered.
Sophia said, “If you’ve got any guts, go after everyone who screwed you over and take back your inheritance. Otherwise, you’re just trash.”
Yandel frowned, rubbing his head in frustration.
“I don’t talk to trash,” Sophia said sharply, then hung up quickly.
Yandel thought, ‘I paid her, got yelled at, and now she hangs up? Seriously?‘ He almost broke his phone.
