Chapter 163
Chapter 163
Vivienne froze. She turned to look at Sophia, who tilted her head playfully and gave her a teasing little wave.
“You got a lawyer?” Vivienne stared in disbelief.
Sophia said, “I was actually planning to call the police, but that might hurt Jelasburg University’s name. I can’t let someone disgusting like you run our school’s good name, right?”
Vivienne suddenly woke up. “How dare you get a lawyer?”
Sophia chuckled. “If the Hartwicks and Dawsons find out you caused trouble just two days into school, I wonder if they’d still want you, a pawn who doesn’t even know her place. Did Mrs. Monroe ever teach you your role?”
Sophia kept calling her a “pawn“, and that made Vivienne more upset. Vivienne, who was usually so confident, just couldn’t stand feeling humiliated.
Vivienne said, “At least I’m engaged to the Hartwick family. You can’t even get close to their circle.”
Sophia scoffed, “The Hartwicks will never accept someone like you.”
Vivienne’s chest heaved with anger, her face twisted with fury. She wanted to attack Sophia, but she knew she wasn’t her match.
In Nathaniel’s office, Sophia stood quietly next to James, who spoke for her the whole time.
James said, “Vivienne’s actions have caused my client serious psychological harm. So, besides money for emotional pain, Vivienne must also give a formal apology to my client.”
Vivienne exploded, “Why should I apologize? Sophia hit me first. She even pulled my hair. She’s crazy–her own sister said so. What does any of this have to do with me?”
Sophia winked at her, pretending to be the victim. James kept a serious face and asked, “So, Vivienne, are you refusing to apologize?”
Nova, a maid who worked for the Monroe family, walked into Nathaniel’s office. She said respectfully, “I am here on Mrs. Monroe’s behalf to say sorry to Sophia.”
Vivienne snapped, “What do you think you’re doing, Nova? You’re just a maid! How dare you try to apologize on Grandma’s behalf?”
“This is Mrs. Monroe’s direct order,” Nova said firmly.
Vivienne felt a cold chill–her grandma knew everything. Just as Nova was about to apologize, Sophia cut in with a mocking laugh, “Is Vivienne a helpless baby who can’t speak for herself? No one gets to apologize for her.”
She added, “The post is on the school forum–every student at Jelasburg University can see it. It’s probably reposted everywhere now. She needs to apologize herself.”
Vivienne tried to protest, but Nova shot her a warning look.
Sophia said with a cold smile, “Since she loves posting so much, let her post a public apology on the school forum and pin or three months. And for a whole month, she has to make a daily announcement over the campus PA system.”
Vivienne exploded when she heard this, “No way. You’re not even worth it!”
Nova slapped Vivienne hard across the face. Vivienne staggered back in shock. “You hit me? My grandma has never hit me!”
Nova took a deep breath and turned to Sophia. “A public apology post is definitely needed. But don’t you think daily announcements for a month might be too much? You’ll be sharing a dorm for the next four years.”
Sophia lifted her chin proudly. “I have a place nearby–no need to stay in the dorm.”

Nova said, “Instead of a public apology over the PA, we could offer other ways to make up for it!
Sophia’s eyes lit up. “How about giving me an apartment, a limited–edition sports car, or a yacht? I know the Monroe family is super rich–f’d feel bad accepting it. But if you really want to, I could take it.”
Nova’s face darkened.
Sophia said, “Oh come on! The Monroe family is rich. You can’t even give a little compensation? And you still have the nerve to talk about making up for
it?”
Nathaniel’s lips twitched as he fought to hide a smile. James, though keeping a serious face, couldn’t hide a small smile either. James said, “My client’s demands aren’t unreasonable. If Vivienne doesn’t want to cooperate, then we’ll have to-”
Nova interrupted, “Please wait, I need to call Mrs. Monroe first.”
After being slapped and kept under control, Vivienne finally got a moment alone when Nova stepped out to make a call. Her eyes, red and full of hatred, stared at Sophia.
Sophia said dramatically, “Nathaniel, look! She’s glaring at me–it’s really scary.”
Sophia said seriously, “Nathaniel, I really can’t share a dorm with Vivienne. What if she holds a grudge and tries to hurt me? I’m scared.”
Nathaniel thought about it, found her reasonable, and nodded. “Vivienne will move to another dorm,” he said.
“I’m not moving!” Vivienne spat through clenched teeth.
‘Why should I apologize and switch dorms when Sophia was the one who attacked me?‘ Vivienne thought angrily.
Sophia smirked at her. “You sure you don’t want to switch?”
Vivienne gulped under Sophia’s mean look. The pain from her injuries and the hair torn from her head kept reminding her she was helpless. In the end, she kept her words to herself.
Nova came back after the call. “Sophia, on behalf of the Monroe family, we accept all your terms,” she said.
Vivienne’s eyes burned with fury. Nova said firmly, “That’s Mrs. Monroe’s order.”
Vivienne was humiliated beyond words. She’d always been the one bullying others, never the victim. ‘That damn bitch!‘ she thought.
Sophia grabbed her phone, hit record, and said, “Apologize. Now.”
Vivienne shot Sophia a hateful glare, tears coming to her eyes. “You said I only need to post an apology online!”
Sophia said, “Plus PA announcements for a month. And right now, you owe me a personal apology.”
Vivienne refused to look at Sophia’s smug face. Under Nova’s firm pressure, she shut her eyes tight, and let tears fall. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said you’re a psycho.”
Sophia suddenly found it funny. After a few seconds, she said coldly, “I won’t forgive you. But just to keep appearances, let’s leave it at that. Try to be a better person from now on, Vivienne.”
After finishing the recording, Sophia moved closer and whispered in her ear, “Too bad she gave you the wrong info.”
Vivienne’s lashes fluttered–then her eyes snapped open.
