Chapter 181
Sophia slapped Jonathan hard on the back. “Get up,” she urged. “Heather’s lost it.”
Jonathan coughed from the impact, wincing in pain as he frowned. He couldn’t understand how Sophia could hit so hard. “What now?” he snapped impatiently.
Sophia could tell he was getting impatient. With a cold short, Shim back down onto the hospital bed. “Still want to know where Mitgille is or
not?”
Jonathan froze for a moment, then asked urgently, “You know where Mireille is?”
Sophia remained silent, her face icy as she crossed her arms and stared I him down impassively.
Jonathan was startled by the coldness in her eyes. Forcing himsel
Sophia nodded. “I just happened to overhear Heather’s call.”
Jonathan paced the hospital room anxiously. “Where is she?”
Sophia feigned ignorance. “Who?”
patient, he asked, “You really know?”
Jonathan shot her a look. “Don’t play dumb with me. You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Sophia smirked.
Jonathan took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. “Fine,” he said through gritted teeth, “I’ll have my assistant wire you the money. Now just tell me. Where exactly is Mireille?”
Sophia pretended to look conflicted. “It’s not proper, right?” she said with feigned hesitation. “I’m supposed to be Heather’s good girl. How could I possibly sell her out?”
Sophia frowned deeply, putting on a show of inner turmoil. “I can’t do this.
Don’t
push
Jonathan’s eye twitched, his expression a mix of frustration and resignation. “Fine, will
I more money do the trick?”
Sophia hesitated dramatically, dragging it out until Jonathan looked like he might spit blood. Only then did she slowly hold up two fingers and say, “I
want 6 million dollars.”
Jonathan readily agreed, “Fine.” He immediately took out his phone and called his assistant to arrange the wire transfer.
As soon as the 6 million dollars hit the account, Jonathan pressed impatiently. “Come on. Tell me. Where is she?”
Sophia drawled, “Jonathan, remember a few months back when Heather threatened to have me committed to SWPC? Well, I just overheard her on the phone, talking about SWPC again, and Ms. Sage.”
“Did she actually hide her at SWPC? That’s a psych ward, after all. Hey, Jonathan, you don’t think Ms. Sage’s got mental issues, do you?” No sooner had the words left her mouth than Jonathan grabbed her arm, his grip tight and desperate.
Jonathan asked with frantic urgency, his face flushed, “You heard that right?”
Sophia frowned. “Let go.”
Jonathan seemed not to hear her at all, his face flushed crimson with agitation. He pressed on desperately. “Is it really Mireille? Is it her?”
Sophia saw he wasn’t getting the message, so she hauled off and slapped him across the face.
Jonathan let go of her with a wince, but didn’t scold her. He kept pressing urgently. “Did you really hear it clearly? Was it really Mireille?”

Sophia snapped impatiently at him, “How the hell should I know if it’s Mireille? Can’t you go check it out your slira
Jonathan smacked his forehead, scrambled for his phone, and dialed, so frantic he was almost incoherent,
After hanging up, Jonathan gasped for alf, his hands trembling as he clutched the phone. His face darkened, and his eyes blazed with mot darste Sophia narrowed her eyes at him, deep in thought. She’d always known Mireille was Jonathan’s first crush, but never realized just how much influe she still had over him.
Now, seeing Jonathan so out of control, she was even more baffled. ‘Another point for pitting them against each other, she mused.
With the extorted money secured, Sophia left the hospital with a satisfied smile. Standing at the entrance, she glanced back before pulling out her phone to call Heather.
“Heather, this is bad,” Sophia exclaimed dramatically. “Jonathan just found out where Mireille is. I just caught him on the phone saying he’s heading to SWPC to look for her. What do we do now?”
Heather had still been clinging to one last hope when this bombshell hit her out of nowhere. “Seriously? You’re not lying to me?”
Sophia let out a sigh. “If you don’t believe me, suit yourself,” she said and hung up. After twisting the knife in Jonathan and landing another blow on Heather, she thought gleefully, ‘Messing with these two is just too satisfying.”
Humming an unfamiliar tune, Sophia was about to hail a cab. Just as she reached the curb, a sleek black luxury car pulled to a smooth stop in front of her.
As the car window rolled down, a man around thirty–five with chiseled features and an air of quiet authority fixed Sophia with a piercing gaze. “Hi, Ms. Chandler,”
Upon seeing him, Sophia arched an eyebrow, smiled, and waved. “Hey, Larson.”
A cold smirk played at the corners of Larson’s lips. “Ms. Chandler, seeing you in person truly lives up to all the rumors.”
Sophia’s smile widened. “What can I say? I’ve got both beauty and brains, so brilliant you can hardly believe your eyes.”
The secretary at the wheel was stunned for a moment.
Though his expression remained impassive, Larson fell silent for a beat before saying, “There’s something I need to discuss with you, Ms. Chandler.”
Sophia pulled out her phone to check the time and smirked. “Sure,” she said, “but just so you know. My time doesn’t come cheap. I charge by the
second.”
After shelling out 16 million dollars, Larson couldn’t care less about such petty change.
In the same café across from the hospital, Sophia and Larson sat face–to–face, the area around them cleared out by the secretary to ensure their conversation remained strictly between them.
Larson said coolly, “Rumor has it you can predict the future, Ms. Chandler. You don’t seem surprised at all to see me.”
Sophia rolled her eyes. “You’re the one who said I could see things coming, so of course, I knew you’d show up.”
Larson’s gaze intensified as he studied her. “I’d assumed those rumors were just that–rumors.”
Sophia didn’t even pretend to be modest, flashing a proud smirk. “Obviously. If you’ve done your homework on me, you’d know the rumors are true. Of
course, it’s real.”
Larson smiled cryptically, “In that case, why don’t you read my fortune too, Ms. Chandler?” To put it bluntly, he still didn’t believe she had such clairvoyant abilities.

“Let me read your fortune first. If I get it right, then you pay me, Larson. How’s that for being generous?”
Larson crossed his legs and smiled faintly, “I’m honored you’d do me the favor, Ms. Chandler. Shall I give you my birth date and time?”
Sophia didn’t even bother to pretend. She waved her hand dismissively. “No need. Just by reading your face, I can tell everything I want to know.”
Larson gestured for her to begin.
Sophia’s playful smile faded as she fixed Larson with a serious look and asked, “Let me ask you one more time. Are you absolutely sure you want me to do this reading?”
Larson nodded.
“Sure you won’t regret this?” Sophia pressed.
Larson gave a light chuckle and said, “No regrets.”
“Alright, as long as you’re sure you won’t regret it.” Sophia cleared her throat, a mischievous glint in her eye, and started making things up. “You weren’t always one of the Moore family.
“Before you turned eight, you had a happy family, loving parents, and you
were
a
bright kid. But then-”
Sophia noticed Larson’s face darken, but pressed on. “But then, Mr. Moore took a fancy to your pretty mother. One night, when he was drunk, he raped
her.“.
Larson’s composed expression twisted into a grim mask as Sophia spoke. His eyes blazed fiercely as he cut her off sharply, “Enough.”
