At this point, Madelyn had already made a frantic escape, her strength severely depleted.

Yet, the young men behind were as pumped up as ever and chased after her swiftly.

In no time at all, they seized Madelyn and grabbed her by her four limbs,

“Who are you guys? Let me go!” She immediately put up a struggle.

“It doesn’t matter who we are. All you need to know is that you’ve crossed someone you shouldn’t have,” they responded icily.

Then, the group hoisted her up and shoved her into a black van parked by the roadside.

“Help! Save me!”

Madelyn screamed her lungs out inside the vehicle, not giving up her struggle for even a moment.

The men watched in exasperation.

Then, they stuffed a worn–out towel into her mouth and covered her head with a sack.

Two hours passed.

Madelyn had passed out at some point without realizing it. When she came to, she found herself bound tightly to a chair, unable to move a muscle.

She cussed under her breath before scanning her surroundings.

She was now somewhere incredibly spacious, but the building was in a state of disrepair. Dust was scattered everywhere, and the ceiling was adorned with bare scaffolding and rusty steel bars. Every corner was piled high with all sorts of scrap metal and broken copper pieces.

If her guess was correct, this place appeared to be an abandoned factory.

A few individuals clad in black were stationed next to her at that moment, keeping a close watch on her every move.

Two subordinates were even arranged to stand guard at the exit.

Yet, the man’s laughter only grew louder. “I won’t do that. So, what are you going to do about it? Go ahead and hit me!”

“Oh, I remember you were quite the show–off last time, weren’t you? I’d like to see you try that again now!” he added provocatively.

Seeing how shameless he was made Madelyn boil with resentment, and she spat on his face without a second thought.

“You think you’re so glorious, huh? But the truth is a loser like you is only capable of such shameful deeds. That’s why Josiah’s always been ten thousand times better than you! In fact, it’s unbelievable that you’re actually a soldier. To me, you’re nothing but a piece of useless, unworthy trash!”

Without a doubt, Hayden was livid.

He wiped the spit off his face. “You’re calling me a piece of trash? Josiah is ten thousand times better than me? Fine, then! I can’t wait to see how he plans to save you today!”

Sebastian was at a loss for words, but given the urgency of the situation, he didn’t have time to reproach Wesley.

Instead, he frantically turned to Josiah. “Did Hayden ever get in touch with you? Did he mention where he might be going?”

Hayden hastily pulled out his device and was surprised to find a text message from Hayden.
