Reborn to Outshine My Ex and His White Moonlight novel Chapter 569

Chapter 569: Chapter 569: Pretending to Be Reserved

Early morning.

Sang Li returned to the hotel, and as soon as he opened the door, he smelled the aroma of food.

Walking into the room, Chu Yin was sitting at the dining table, her head resting on a pillow, half-asleep.

There were a few home-cooked dishes placed on the table.

He stepped forward, and Chu Yin immediately stood up alertly.

He even wondered if Chu Yin slept with one eye open.

As she got up, Chu Yin’s vision went black, and her body swayed as she fell over.

Sang Li reached out to hold her arm, still so thin.

It seemed if he exerted just a little force, she would break.

Chu Yin paused, blinked, and let out an "oh" as she fell into his arms.

She never seemed to tire of this trick.

Surprisingly, Sang Li found that he had already gotten used to her antics.

He frowned slightly, politely adjusting her stance.

"Were you waiting for me?"

"Mm, look at the dishes I prepared for you, how are they?"

Chu Yin tilted her head, fixating on Sang Li.

She just needed to say, hurry up and praise me.

Sang Li glanced at the food, casually saying, "Thank you, how much did you pay? I’ll reimburse you."

"I..." Chu Yin’s eyes dimmed slightly, but she quickly smiled, "Five hundred. Thank you, boss."

"You never miss a chance for a bargain."

Sang Li spoke indifferently, taking off his coat and hanging it over the chair, then sat down to eat.

The aroma of food made him hungry.

The designer for Lin Zhiyi’s studio had arrived, and he went to give some instructions.

He also helped Zhou Zhao get in touch with experts in Hai City.

With injuries to muscles and bones, Zhou Zhao needed to rest well.

In the rush, he forgot to eat.

Faced with the home-cooked dishes that didn’t look particularly appealing, Sang Li held little hope.

He figured it was probably another cheap take-out Chu Yin ordered.

He was too lazy to ask someone to prepare anything else, so he decided to temporarily fill his stomach.

Meanwhile, he could help Chu Yin earn some money, otherwise her mind would be full of sugar daddy drama.

Sang Li picked up a bite of tomato scrambled eggs, tasted it, and paused.

Chu Yin pursed her lips and asked, "Not tasty?"

"It’s quite good."

Chu Yin cupped her chin, smiling, "Then eat more."

Sang Li glanced at her, continued picking food: "I understand now, I’ll give you a thousand."

Chu Yin’s smile stiffened, then she burst out laughing.

"You really understand me, thanks, sugar daddy."

"I’m not your sugar daddy, we’re partners, don’t underestimate yourself," Sang Li said mildly.

Chu Yin said nothing, tightening her reddened fingers.

He’s quite good.

Lin Zhiyi was right, anyone he loves would be happy.

She uttered a small acknowledgment, got up and said, "I’ll sleep now, just send the money to my WeChat."

Sang Li nodded.

He watched her slender back, covered in scars.

Though he knew he shouldn’t say it, he blurted it out.

"Chu Yin, want to come back to Hai City with me?"

Chu Yin paused, her hands clenched beneath her sleeves, but she turned and smiled.

"Why? Want to take care of me?"

"You cooperated well with me to break off Zhiyi’s engagement, your acting skills are good. Hai City has many entertainment companies..."

Chu Yin didn’t hear the latter part of what he said.

She only heard three words, Lin Zhiyi.

She pressed her lips together, lowered her gaze: "No, my home is in Jing City. Unless you’re taking care of me, don’t ask me to act again, I’ve turned down several jobs."

Bullshit.

She had no jobs at all.

Sang Li naturally knew this.

So he understood Chu Yin’s refusal.

He didn’t force her: "Go rest. I’ve extended the room for three months, you can stay here for now."

Chu Yin’s face blossomed with a smile: "Mr. Sang, you’re so nice, I almost want to kiss you."

His eyes closed slightly: "Chu Yin."

"Okay, okay, I’ll behave."

Though she said that, Chu Yin still blew Sang Li a kiss.

Sang Li hesitated, then resumed eating as if nothing happened.

Chu Yin was used to his indifferent demeanor, pursing her lips as she returned to her room. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Listening to the door closing behind him, Sang Li thought about Chu Yin’s refusal to return to Hai City.

Suddenly, his appetite disappeared.

Setting down his bowl and chopsticks, he returned to his room and noticed Chu Yin’s medication on the coffee table.

He picked up the medicine and knocked on Chu Yin’s door.

"Chu Yin, did you change your bandages today?"

"I’m asleep."

"Then you haven’t changed them. The doctor said if you’ve started, you must persist, otherwise it’ll scar," Sang Li reminded her.

Reluctantly, Chu Yin opened the door.

"The wound’s on my back, how could I change the bandage myself? Will you help me?"

At least at the Sang Family, there were maids to help her.

Sang Li unthinkingly replied: "Okay."

When he considered changing his mind, he had already been pulled into Chu Yin’s room.
