Revenge amnesia upgraded to his brother novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Damian lingered just outside the studio entrance, clutching an enormous bouquet of overly extravagant white roses. A crowd had gathered around him, their phones raised high, capturing every moment.

What was he trying to achieve with this spectacle?

I stepped out, my expression cold and unreadable. The moment I reached the doorway, a barrage of camera flashes exploded around me, momentarily blinding.

“Norah!” Damian’s voice cut through the noise as he spotted me and hurried forward, his eyes darkened and bloodshot with desperation.

Without hesitation, he dropped to his knees right before me, the crowd gasping in disbelief at his sudden display.

“Norah, please, give me another chance. I know I was wrong, truly. When I saw you racing off to save someone, it hit me—what I’ve lost…” His voice trembled as he reached out to take my hand, but I instinctively stepped back, avoiding his touch.

“Even if you don’t remember anything now, it’s okay. We can start fresh. I’ll make you fall in love with me all over again.”

Watching him in this pitiful state stirred a mix of emotions in me—how blind I had been to his true nature. I was about to tell him to leave and never come back.

Suddenly, a sleek black sports car sped past Damian, the rush of wind tossing his hair across his face. The car door swung open, and Lucien emerged with long, confident strides.

He glanced coldly at Damian, still kneeling, then turned his attention to me, slipping his arm naturally around my waist and pulling me close.

“Are you alright?” he asked softly.

I leaned into his embrace, shaking my head.

“Damian, I thought I made things clear before. You’re a stranger to me now. I have a fiancé. So stop bothering me.”

Lucien’s grip on my waist tightened protectively. Damian’s eyes locked onto Lucien’s hand, a flicker of something unreadable passing through them.

More people had gathered, all aiming their cameras at the tense scene.

Without warning, Damian pushed through the crowd in a daze and disappeared around the corner.

Lucien watched him go and murmured, “I just heard Damian’s quietly selling off several of his private properties and collections. He’s rushing, desperate to raise cash.”

“Raising money? Does he think he can buy me back with money?” I scoffed. That sounded exactly like the kind of foolish plan Damian would hatch.

“No, it’s more like he’s trying to prepare an escape—maybe to break free from Eleanor’s control.”

He hesitated, then added, “And Serena hasn’t been seen in public since that dinner. It’s like she vanished.”

I narrowed my eyes thoughtfully. So their alliance wasn’t as solid as I had believed.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, displaying an unknown number.

I hesitated before answering, “Hello?”

On the other end, there was only hurried breathing. After a pause, a familiar voice whispered, “Norah, it’s me…”

Serena?

What was left between us to say?

“Don’t hang up, please. I want to see you—just the two of us. We need to talk.”

“There’s nothing to talk about, Serena. If this is about begging for Damian, don’t bother.”

“No, it’s not just about him. It’s about things from the past… about Mrs. Eleanor. There’s information you don’t have, things that could help you.”

I was silent for a moment, then said, “Time and place.”
