Revenge amnesia upgraded to his brother novel Chapter 36

Norah’s Perspective

I woke slowly, cocooned in a cocoon of warmth and the undeniable strength of a protective embrace. The lingering haze from the drugs had finally lifted, leaving my body fragile and weak, yet my mind astonishingly sharp and alert.

Pieces of the previous night flooded back in vivid flashes—the frantic chase, Damian’s repulsive, violating touch, the overwhelming nausea from whatever he had slipped into my drink… and then Lucien, bursting through the door like a beacon of hope, a living salvation.

A soft touch grazed my cheek.

Lucien’s eyes were fixed on me, his fingers gently tracing the contours of my skin. I turned toward him, meeting those deep, intense eyes that seemed to pull me under like an ocean current.

A surge of emotion swelled inside me, a feeling I hadn’t experienced since my parents’ death—true safety, a rare and precious comfort.

I shifted slightly, attempting to carve out a tiny space between us. Instinctively, his arm around my waist tightened, drawing me closer.

“Lucien… thank you. For saving me,” I whispered, the weight of my gratitude heavy in my voice.

Had he arrived even a moment later… I couldn’t bear to finish that thought.

His fingers continued their gentle movement over my face, a faint smile curling his lips. “Norah, the honor was mine. Remember this—Lucien is always at your service. In every way.”

There was a teasing ambiguity in his tone that made my cheeks flush and sent warmth creeping down my neck. That man had an uncanny ability to unravel me with just a few words.

I pushed myself upright, eager to change the subject. “What about Serena? Is she okay?”

Lucien chuckled softly, a low sound that vibrated in the quiet room.

“The doctors have checked her. She’s shaken, but physically unharmed. I’ve placed her somewhere safe. She’s waiting for you to decide what happens next.”

Thanks to his careful arrangements, I was able to see Serena not long after. She looked exhausted, but her eyes still burned with that familiar mix of arrogance and defiance. Crossing her arms, she sneered, “Here to gloat, Norah? Or did you bring your lover along to scare me?”

I kept my tone steady, refusing to rise to her bait.

“You saw how far Damian has fallen. He won’t just let you walk away. Why are you still protecting him? If not for yourself, what about your child? Don’t you care?”

Serena paused, a flicker of hesitation crossing her face before she replied coldly, “Save your breath. I’m not talking. I’ll protect my own child.”

I silently scorned her naivety—it reminded me painfully of the person I used to be. Before I could say more, Lucien’s phone buzzed sharply. He glanced at the screen, and his expression darkened instantly.

“What is it?” I asked, and he handed me the phone.

The screen was flooded with sensational headlines from countless news feeds—tabloid screams that tore into me with ruthless glee:

“High Society in Turmoil! Norah Plays Constantine Brothers Against Each Other!”

“Ambition Unleashed: Lucien and Mistress Norah Conspire to Frame Damian!”

“Thornbird Founder Exposed: The Social Climber Who Used Any Means Necessary!”

Each article was accompanied by doctored photos and twisted stories, painting me as a manipulative seductress who used lies and her body to climb the social ladder. Lucien was portrayed as a cold, ruthless brother betraying his own family, while Damian was cast as the pitiable, heartbroken victim.
