Revenge amnesia upgraded to his brother novel Chapter 84

**The Goodbye That Never Reached You and My Life Chasing 84**

**Chapter 84**

**Norah’s POV**

The darkness enveloped me completely, a suffocating shroud that felt as if it were a living entity, wrapping itself around me like a thick, oppressive blanket.

In one fleeting moment, I was acutely aware of the nightmare that was unfolding right before my eyes, and in the next, I was swallowed by an impenetrable abyss of black.

This abrupt plunge into darkness left me disoriented, my senses scrambling to adjust.

Mateo’s grip on my waist became a vice, his fingers digging into my skin through the delicate fabric of my dress, anchoring me to him whether I wished to be or not.

Around us, the atmosphere shifted dramatically, morphing from the controlled chaos of a lavish party into something untamed and primal.

The elegant waltz music that had filled the air was abruptly silenced, replaced by a slow, grinding blues tune that slithered through the darkness like a living creature.

The saxophone cried out, its mournful wail echoing in the void.

The bass reverberated low and gritty, while the singer’s voice oozed with promises of pleasures best explored in shadowy corners.

The very air around us thickened with tension and raw anticipation, heavy and almost suffocating.

I could hear everything with an unnaturally sharp clarity—the rustling of luxurious silk and satin as bodies drew closer, the quickened, ragged breaths of men and women surrendering to their desires, and the first hesitant giggles that quickly morphed into bold, unabashed sounds of indulgence.

Mateo’s hand slid from its possessive hold on my waist, moving slowly, deliberately up my side until his fingers found their resting place against my cheek.

His touch was unsettlingly intimate, igniting a spark of awareness that sent shivers down my spine.

“The game’s started, Nono,” he murmured, his lips brushing so close to my ear that I could feel the warmth of his breath ghosting over my skin. “Go kiss whoever you want… or,” he paused, letting the weight of his suggestion hang heavily in the dark space between us, “let me kiss you.”

His words were a dangerous invitation, a challenge that tested both my loyalty and my desire.

I stood there, frozen, my mind racing while my heart pounded against my ribs like a trapped bird desperate for freedom.

Somewhere in this oppressive, crowded darkness was Lucien.

I could vividly envision him, surrounded and engulfed by those predatory women, their greedy hands all over him, claiming what I still felt belonged to me.

The mental image churned my stomach, a sickening cocktail of jealousy and despair bubbling to the surface. Why had he returned for me?

And why, for heaven’s sake, would he put himself through this public humiliation?

Was I truly worth such degradation?

As the sounds around us intensified, growing bolder with each passing second, I could hear the wet, slick sounds of kisses being exchanged, the low, throaty moans of pleasure, and the press of bodies against one another in the all-consuming darkness.

Suddenly, someone stumbled into me, their body colliding with mine forcefully, followed by a slurred, drunken apology that reeked of expensive whiskey.

The air was saturated with the cloying scent of perfume, acrid sweat, and the unmistakable aroma of unbridled desire, overwhelming my senses and clouding my thoughts.
