Revenge amnesia upgraded to his brother novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9

The commotion grew louder by the second, and Lucien’s voice broke through the crowd as he pushed his way forward. He appeared beside Eleanor, holding a glass of champagne with an air of calm curiosity. “What’s going on? Why all this noise?” he asked, scanning the chaotic scene before him.

Inside the room, Damian looked utterly disheveled, his usual composure shattered. Mrs. Brissac was still sobbing uncontrollably, her shoulders shaking with each tear. Without hesitation, I stepped forward and wrapped my cloak around her trembling frame, hoping to offer some comfort.

Suddenly, Mrs. Brissac spun around, her face streaked with tears of humiliation and fury. She pointed a trembling finger directly at Damian, who stood frozen, his shock evident. Her voice pierced the silence, raw and accusing: “It’s him! That bastard! He tried to assault me!”

The room fell deadly silent, the only sounds the sharp cries of Mrs. Brissac and the pale, stunned expression on Damian’s face.

“What are you saying?!” Mr. Brissac pushed through the crowd, his face pale but burning with anger. Seeing his wife so distraught, his fury ignited like a wildfire.

Known for his quick temper, the elderly gentleman wasted no time letting his rage loose. Without giving Damian a chance to speak, he charged forward like a bull, landing a fierce punch squarely on Damian’s face.

“You disgraceful wretch! You’ve brought shame to the Constantine name!” he roared.

The situation spiraled rapidly out of control. Gasps, curses, and shouts erupted from the guests, who were now caught in the storm of chaos.

Damian crumpled to the floor, blood pouring from his nose, terror etched deep into his features.

“No! It wasn’t me! I swear, I didn’t do it! I’ve been set up!” he shouted desperately.

“Lucien did it! He’s the one behind this!” Damian accused, pointing directly at Lucien, who stood calmly at the doorway, sipping his champagne with an unsettling coolness.

Lucien’s voice was steady and cold as he replied, “If you’ve done something wrong, little brother, the honest thing is to admit it.”

Amid the uproar, Mr. Brissac pulled out his phone, his voice rising above the chaos. “Police! You need to come to the Constantine mansion immediately! Someone attempted to violate my wife! This is urgent!”

Within minutes, two police officers arrived, quickly taking statements from the stunned guests.

The onlookers exchanged glances—some filled with disdain, others with thinly veiled amusement.

“No! You can’t do this to me! I’m Damian!” he yelled, struggling against the officers. “This is a setup! Mother! Please, help me!”

Despite his frantic resistance, the police showed no mercy. In front of everyone, they hauled him away, his protests fading as he was led out.

Mrs. Medici, who had been quietly observing from the sidelines, approached me. Her tone was cool and measured. “It seems the Constantine family’s affairs are more tangled than I thought. Associating with such morally bankrupt people will only damage the Medici name. The acquisition of Thorn Creative is off. Goodbye.” After whispering a few words to Serena in English, she turned and left without a backward glance.

Serena’s face drained of color, panic flashing in her eyes as she tried to follow Mrs. Medici. But Eleanor suddenly collapsed, overcome with fury and shock, forcing Serena to catch her before she hit the floor.

The family banquet ended on a sour note, with Damian being taken away to face the consequences of his actions.
