Chapter 220
Sydney was completely naked, her skin flushed and radiating heat. Her eyes glazed and unfocused, she suddenly lunged at Aiden.
Aiden had just stepped through the door when he was completely caught off guard by a sudden pounce.
At the same time, a wave of faint fragrance assaulted his senses.
The scent was subtle, but in that particular moment, Aiden instinctively held his breath.
With her soft, supple body pressed against him, Sydney was utterly confident that no man could possibly resist her.
But the man before her didn’t waver in the slightest. Instead, the temperature around him seemed to plummet, his face darkening instantly as he suddenly flung her aside.
Sydney was flung unceremoniously onto the floor, not a trace of mercy in his actions.
The pain shot through her body as she looked up at him with tear–filled eyes. “Aiden…”
But Aiden had already turned away. Without a second glance at Sydney, no matter her reaction or posture, he strode out and slammed the door behind him with a resounding bang.
The assistant followed closely behind, visibly flinching at Aiden’s icy demeanor.
Aiden turned and caught the guilty look on his assistant’s face. He snapped, “Clean up this mess and get the hell out. Don’t ever come back.”
The assistant’s face went pale. “Mr. Walker!”
Without a backward glance, Aiden strode
away.
Kelly was already at the bar, sipping a mojito. Too curious about how things were between her brother and Valerie, she called Aiden to check in.
Aiden glanced at his phone and answered.
“Hey, bro,” Kelly said with a sly grin, “Are you back at the hotel?”
“Yeah,” Aiden replied.
“So, did you get the surprise I set up for you?”
“Surprise?” Aiden’s face darkened as he immediately thought of that disgusting scene from earlier. “That was your doing?”
Oblivious to the anger in his voice, Kelly hurried to take credit. “Yeah! At first, Valerie was a bit shy, but with some sweet–talking and trickery, I managed to get her to Gharn. Pretty clever, right? Surprised?”
Aiden froze. “You’re in Westerland too?”
“Yeah, of course,” Kelly giggled.
“And where’s Valerie?”
“Valerie…” Kelly was confused. “You didn’t see her? I called Lennox to make a key card for her. She should be inside.”
In that instant, Aiden’s mind flashed to the panicked figure he’d glimpsed leaving just before he entered. His heart sank. “You… are so dead.”
Kelly was confused.
Before she could get a response, Aiden had already hung up.

Chapter 220
At the same time, Valerie was walking the streets of Gharn, her thoughts in turmoil and her mind a little dazed.
She glanced left and right, trying to distract herself, but the moment her mind went blank, those intimate sounds would involuntarily echo in lur head
She didn’t even dare imagine another
W lost in Aiden’s arms, completely enraptured.
‘And what about him? What was he feeling then?‘ Valerie wondered, her mind buzzing.
Clutching the gift she’d meant for Aiden, she wandered aimlessly, until, without realizing, she bumped into someone.
in Estain.
Valerie quickly stepped back and apolowan
The man in front of her was tall, but to her apology.
Valerie looked up, and when she saw his face, she froze in shock.
The man was slender, dressed in a crisp business suit, gold–rimmed glasses perched
looked at her.
Valerie took a step back, disbelief in her voice. “You… Nelson Hall?”
on his nose. His gaze was deeper than she remembered as he
Seeing her reaction, Nelson gave a self–deprecating smile. “Yeah, it’s me. Never thought I’d run into you here.”
Valerie noticed Nelson was even thinner than before, but there was a sharpness to him now, a kind of maturity she’d never seen in him.
It was as if, overnight, he’d grown from a boy into a man.
“Long time no see, Valerie.” Nelson’s voice was soft, tinged with both joy and something more complicated.
Valerie met his gaze, but under the purity of his eyes, she felt unexpectedly flustered.
She looked away, forcing a tight–lipped smile. “Yeah, what a coincidence. So… what are you doing in Westerland?”
“I’m here on business,” Nelson replied, picking up on her discomfort. He smiled politely, keeping a respectful distance, as if mindful of the boundaries between a single man and a married woman. “It’s rare to meet an old friend in a foreign country. I haven’t eaten yet, want to grab a bite and catch up?”
Valerie hesitated. “You haven’t eaten? It’s so late…”
Nelson chuckled. “Too busy to eat.”
“You…” Valerie started, but didn’t know what to say.
They used to talk about everything, but now, even a simple sentence left her at a loss for words.
-Nelson’s heart ached, but he still flashed the same bright smile
always. “Let’s hit the street.”
Before Valerie could answer, he grabbed her hand and dashed toward the bustling street.
The wind was strong tonight. Valerie ran through the streets of Gharn, the unfamiliar faces around her giving her a strange sense of excitement.
It was an experience she’d never had before.
She instinctively glanced at Nelson’s back, and for a moment, it felt just like all those times they’d snuck out of school together for secret dates.
Soon, they reached a place. Nelson clearly knew Gharn well. He led her
t to the best food stalls.
As they passed one stall, the owner’s daughter blushed at Nelson, but when she saw Valerie, her smile faltered. Still, she quickly prepared a generous spread of food for them.

As soon as they sat down, Valerie saw Aiden’s name flash on her phone. Her expression darkened as she hit decline. But Aiden called again and again,
relentless.
Nelson noticed but said nothing, sipping his lemonade and lowering his gaze.
Most of the food the stall owner’s daughter brought over was fried snacks and the local ham. They were all Valerie’s favorites.
“So, what are you doing in Gharn? Did you come alone?” Nelson suddenly asked.
Valerie had just popped a crispy fried meatball into her mouth. She paused, chewing in silence.
Her phone rang again. She glanced at it, and this time, she finally picked up. “Hello?”
Aiden’s voice was slightly breathless. “Where are you?”
Valerie felt a sharp pain in her heart. She pressed her lips together, forcing a light laugh. “It’s so late, shouldn’t you be asleep? It’s already midnight back home. Where else could it be?”
Nelson clearly saw the corners of her eyes redden as she bit her lower lip, her gaze dropping in silent restraint.
There was a brief silence on Aiden’s end, then his tone softened, rare for him. “I know you’re in Gharn. Kelly just told me.”
