The coldness that seemed to cling to her bones came from that man.

He was angry.

Valerie’s heart skipped a beat. “Aiden.”

She could clearly feel the man in the back seat of the car staring at her.

But Valerie couldn’t see his face, let alone his expression; she could only feel his gaze, chilling and sharp.

Adrienne also looked over, and upon seeing the car, she exclaimed, “Wow, that car–it’s obviously not one just anyone can drive. It’s so expensive!”

Russell stared at her, confused, and explained, “It’s a Rolls–Royce, a Phantom.”

Then, he thought, “Aiden? That name sounds familiar, doesn’t it?”

But for a moment, Russell couldn’t recall where he had heard it before.

Lennox had already gotten out of the car and respectfully opened the back door, saying, “Mrs. Walker, please get in.”

His voice was soft but enough to shatter Russell’s jaw.

Adrienne also stared, her eyes wide with disbelief, covering her mouth as she asked, “Valerie, is he calling you?”

Adrienne thought, ‘Valerie’s married?‘

Before either of them could react, Valerie had already turned around, giving them a polite smile as she said, “It’s my husband. I’ll leave for a moment.”

Adrienne gasped, “Husband?”

Russell nearly cracked, muttering, “Husband?”

Valerie had already entered the car.

Lennox gave Russell a deep look, nodding slightly in greeting, before quickly returning to the driver’s seat and driving off.

Russell stood there, stunned for a long time, before snapping out of it and muttering, “Wait, isn’t that Lennox?”

He was Aiden’s most trusted assistant; always by Aiden’s side.

Aiden was his brother’s strongest rival.

Camren was a formidable man, and once he rose to power, he used an iron–fisted approach to intimidate many people

make him wary.

The first on that list was Aiden from the Walker family.

Aiden had just recently gained power, yet within such a short time, he had already narrowed the distance between him and the Shelton family by a lot. Russell had heard Aiden’s name and Lennox’s name more than once from his brother.

Now, Lennox called Valerie “Mrs. Walker,” and the “Aiden” that Valerie had whispered earlier,

Russell suddenly felt a chill run down his spine and said, “I’ve been chasing after her for so long. Do you think I’m going to get silenced?”

Russell panicked, quickly dialing his older brother and desperately seeking refuge.

Chapter 79

Adrienne was still confused and said, “Huh?”

Once Valerie got into the car, she immediately felt the suffocatingly low pressure inside the cabin.

Aiden was sitting back against the seat, his legs crossed, his gaze cool and heavy, staring at her with an expression that was almost a smile, but not quite.

Valerie felt a shiver in her heart, and suddenly, Adrienne’s earlier words echoed in her mind: “A man like him definitely can’t stand any kind of flirting of rolling around. Just soften your attitude a bit, and he’ll pick the stars for you.”

Aiden, a man like that, how could he ever actually pick stars for someone?

Valerie thought about it, and indeed, Adrienne’s fantasy was far from reality.

But her strong desire to survive urged Valerie to move closer, giving him a slightly flattering smile and saying, “What are you doing here? Didn’t you say you’d be away on business for half a month? It’s only been a week.”

Aiden’s gaze deepened, and when he heard her, there seemed to be a smile in his eyes, or maybe not. He said, “Destined?”

Valerie’s heart skipped a beat.

Aiden leaned in closer, lifting his hand to gently pinch her chin, his voice low and magnetic as he said, “He’s destined, then what about me?”

Valerie replied, “Nonsense. What ‘destined‘–you are my destiny.”

Aiden raised an eyebrow.

Valerie, feeling urgent, quickly explained, “That person didn’t mean it like that. He wasn’t confessing to me. He just wanted to buy my song, and the other person is my roommate. I’m not close to him at all, really.”

“A song?”

Valerie’s heart raced, and she nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes, that’s right. While you were away, I wrote a few songs by myself. He heard me practicing at school.”

Aiden asked, “Just like that?”

Valerie hurriedly nodded, “Just like that.”

Valerie keenly noticed that the cold aura around Aiden seemed to soften slightly.

She cautiously looked at him, but Aiden had no expression on his face. His cold demeanor remained, and even his eyes were deep and thick, giving no hint of emotion.

Valerie felt even more nervous. She cautiously leaned forward and placed a light kiss on his lips.

Aiden’s eyes darkened even further, and for a moment, there was an unreadable fluctuation in them.

Valerie immediately felt intimidated, retracting her head, but before she could react, her head was grabbed from beh deepened and intensified.

The intense hormones from Aiden flooded over her, making it impossible to resist.

Unlike every other time in her past life, this time, Valerie felt an unusually strange sensation.

Aiden’s lips quickly moved to her corner, gently licking it, his voice hoarse as he whispered, “You’ve improved.”

Valerie’s eyes momentarily grew confused, but at the same time, she felt her entire body tense from the sensation.

Aiden murmured, “So you’ve learned to seduce me.”

Valerie’s mind went blank, and her face turned bright red in an instant.

She had only been afraid of him getting angry….

But seeing the deep, thick gaze of Aiden, Valerie felt it was now or never. She hugged him, with a hint of subtle flattery, and asked, “So, do you like it?”

Aiden’s nose brushed against hers, and without answering, he pulled her onto his lap.

Valerie instinctively gasped, holding his hand and tensing up, saying, “We’re in the car…”

Unintentionally, she looked up and saw that the partition between the front and back seats had been raised at some point, and she hadn’t noticed.

Her face heated up even more, and Valerie grabbed the man’s hand, somewhat angrily and embarrassed, saying, “Lennox is still here. Don’t do this…”

And it was still daylight.

Aiden seemed to smile, his deep, magnetic voice lightly teasing her ear, “Don’t move.”

His voice was low, carrying a charm that captivated every woman.

Valerie’s body instantly became even more rigid.
