Sophie’s face was a picture of calm.

She'd done her duty by this so-called brother—no blood ties—twenty years ago.

But now, she needed to know how Isaac had gotten his hands on the powder from The Silent Shadows.

"Does this ring a bell?"

She set the packet of powder down in front of Isaac.

"Haven't you guys figured it all out by now? What more do you want from me?" Isaac shot back, his voice icy. "Yeah, I developed it. So what? I just wanted to make a bit of cash to get by. You all took everything from me—I had to survive somehow, didn’t I?"

"Is it really that cut and dried?"

Sophie smirked and went on, "Where exactly did you get this stuff? Was it from The Silent Shadows' old digs, or somewhere else? If you don’t spill, I’ve got ways to make you talk."

With that, Sophie switched off the surveillance camera in the room.

"That year, I was flat broke, so I visited my dad in prison. He told me about The Silent Shadows. Back then, they were gunning for the Russell family, and my dad had a hand in Emerson’s fatal car accident. So... he told me to hit them up for cash and find a way to bust him out.
