Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 402

Mr. Brennan was instantly moved, his eyes full of warmth as he looked at her. “Lauren, you really do have a good heart. With such a thoughtful granddaughter, I’ll live another twenty years, easy!”

The rest of the Brennan family echoed his sentiment, glancing at Lauren with fondness and approval. Mrs. Brennan went so far as to pull Lauren into a tight embrace, holding her close as if she were the most precious thing in the world.

Murray Brennan added his own praise, then spoke in a gentle tone. “While you’re out there on your own, we all worry about you—no one wants to see you put yourself through any trouble. Next time something needs to be done, let us handle it, okay?”

Everyone else nodded in agreement.

Lauren shook her head, dutiful as ever. “As long as Granddad feels a little better, what’s a little trouble for me?”

The Brennans only grew more touched by her devotion.

Only Juliet Brennan seemed distracted, pushing her food around her plate with a fork, clearly lost in thought.

She glanced at the housekeeper, wanting to ask if Anastasia had stopped by today, but swallowed the question before it could escape. No one else in the family cared for Anastasia; if she brought it up, her parents would only get upset.

Benson Brennan, too, seemed ill at ease.

After dinner, as everyone drifted off, Benson called out to Lauren.

“Was it you who sent me that medicine five years ago?”

Five years ago? Medicine?

Lauren’s eyes flickered with recognition.

She remembered: five years ago, Benson had been filming in the mountains when he was bitten by a poisonous snake. Someone had sent him a package of medicine, and it had saved his life at the last moment. He’d never revealed who his savior was, and the whole thing had become a bit of a family mystery. Why was he suddenly asking about it now?

“Why do you bring it up all of a sudden, Benson?” she asked, her expression unreadable.
