"What do you make of this? Is it real or fake?" Mr. Brennan asked.

"I've never heard of Anastasia having this kind of talent," Murray admitted. He found it hard to believe. As an insider, he knew just how monumentally difficult it was to develop a new drug. It was simply preposterous.

And yet, a tiny, fervent part of him couldn't help but wonder: *What if it's true? What if my niece really is a once-in-a-generation genius?*

He wracked his brain, trying to recall any of Anastasia's past achievements in the field, but came up empty. There was the big fuss about her treating Harrison Lancaster, but there had been no news of any progress or results on that front. She had achieved a perfect score on the Global Harmony Medical Institute entrance exam, but Murray had done some digging. He'd discovered that the supposedly incorruptible Mr. Lockwood of the institute had a distant connection to the Lancaster family. If Harrison Lancaster had ordered him to fudge Anastasia's score, Lockwood would likely have complied. Because of that, Murray didn't put much stock in her perfect score.

As for the incident where Anastasia had supposedly explained the exam questions at the institute, Murray had only heard rumors. He hadn't seen it with his own eyes and assumed it was just another charade orchestrated by Lockwood, under Harrison’s instruction, to bolster her reputation.

After considering all angles, he couldn't find a single piece of evidence to support the idea that Anastasia was capable of this. He simply couldn't believe it.

Mr. Brennan clearly shared his sentiment. After a moment of thought, he said, "We'll see."

"The conference is tomorrow. We'll know the truth then."

Anastasia was oblivious to the outside world's speculation and the reactions of Lauren and the Brennans. She had no energy to spare. The past few days had been exhausting, and after staying up all last night, she was completely drained. She had managed to hold herself together at the office, but the moment she was back with Harrison, the tension melted away. Not long after getting into the car, she fell asleep in his arms.

By the time they arrived back at Rosewood Manor, Harrison had to carry her out of the car and all the way to their bedroom, but even that didn't stir her.

She slept straight through until evening, long after dinner time had passed.
