Recognizing the depth of Harrison Lancaster's devotion to his wife, the director adopted a much more serious tone. "Pass the word," he whispered urgently to his assistant. "Make sure nothing goes wrong with Ms. Sterling's presentation. If there are any problems, we'll have to answer to Mr. Lancaster!"
The assistant nodded quickly.
With the utmost reverence, they escorted Harrison Lancaster inside.
A short distance behind, Lauren had also arrived. She watched Anastasia's grand entrance, then saw Harrison being personally welcomed by the director, Mr. Cooper. A cold smile played on her lips.
"The more glamorous she is now, the harder she'll fall later," she muttered. "Just wait."
Erin, walking beside her, seemed distracted. As Anastasia made her entrance, Erin’s eyes had scanned the group and landed on Cora. Cora had completely betrayed them. Working part-time for Unison Pharma was one thing, but to show up at the conference as part of their official team? Where was her loyalty to Lauren?
Yet, alongside her anger, Erin felt a pang of confusion. Cora, at Anastasia's side, looked radiant and successful. Meanwhile, Erin was with Lauren, and they were so insignificant that no one had even bothered to greet them.
"Let's go, we're going in!" Lauren said, oblivious to her friend's expression, lost in her own malicious anticipation. She had come today for one reason: to witness Anastasia's public humiliation. She had orchestrated a grand drama just for her, and she could hardly wait for the show to begin.
Inside the venue, Anastasia was the center of attention from the moment she entered. Unfazed, she calmly took her seat, which was marked with her name.
Her gaze swept across the room and found Harrison in the VIP section. A crowd of people, either excited or sycophantic, had gathered around him.
Harrison, looking coolly detached, suddenly turned his head and met her eyes.
Anastasia flashed him a brilliant smile. The man’s stern, imposing expression instantly softened into something tender.
She scanned the rest of the room and spotted her uncle, Murray. She was considering whether to go over and say hello when Cora, sitting in the row behind her, leaned forward. "Lauren's here too," she whispered. "Over there."
Following Cora's gesture, Anastasia saw Lauren talking with Otto Evert.
