Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 632

“Where are you?”

Harrison’s deep voice, devoid of any discernible emotion, came through the phone.

“On the way to Peach Blossom Valley. I heard the scenery is great, and I was bored at home, so I thought I’d check it out. What’s up, Harrison?”

Hearing this, Anastasia and Logan let out a silent, collective sigh of relief.

On the other end, Harrison had just walked into the house. He strode inside, loosening his tie.

“Peach Blossom Valley? Are Ana and Logan with you?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Put Ana on the phone.”

A moment later, the phone was in Anastasia’s hand.

She braced herself and answered.

“Hi, Hubby. Are you home?”

“Why was your phone off?” Harrison asked.

He had walked in to find the house empty. When he asked the staff, they said the three of them had gone out.

When he called Anastasia’s number, he got a message that the phone was turned off.

So, without even changing his clothes, he had called Marcus.

“My phone wasn’t off…” Anastasia said, her voice full of confusion. She pulled out her own phone. “Oh, wow, it is off! The cold must have drained the battery.”

Her surprise was so genuine that if Logan didn’t know she had turned it off out of fear of answering, he might have believed her.

Harrison accepted the explanation, though he was still annoyed. “Why didn’t you tell me you were going out?”

Couldn’t he have taken her wherever she wanted to go? Why did she have to ask Marcus?

“I’m sorry. I just saw how busy you were today and didn’t want you to be more tired.”

Anastasia expertly cooed into the phone, and after a few sweet words, Harrison’s mood seemed to improve.

“The staff wouldn’t even give me a car. We couldn’t have done it without you today. Don’t worry, I’ll make it up to you!” Anastasia said gratefully, patting his shoulder again.

Marcus’s vision swam.

“You’re despicable!”

“A little,” Anastasia admitted.

Logan said nothing.

The institute was far, and the icy roads forced them to drive slowly. By the time they finally arrived, it was five in the afternoon.

There was a real Peach Blossom Valley in Fairhaven, but a round trip would only take four hours. If they had actually gone there, they would have been home within the hour.

But the institute was so far that there was no way they could make it back in time. Harrison would definitely realize something was wrong.

“When Mr. Lancaster calls later, we’ll be counting on you, Mr. Jackson,” Logan said, also patting Marcus’s shoulder.

Marcus had resigned himself to his fate. He let out a dry, hollow laugh. “You’re wrong. Harrison will definitely call, but I doubt it will be for me.”
