Harrison gazed out the window at the passing scenery and closed his eyes.
Giving her the cold shoulder wasn't easy on him, either.
Recalling the jarring scene at the restaurant, he knew it wasn't her fault, but he was still consumed by a rage that felt like a knife twisting in his gut.
In that moment, he had realized just how unbearable the thought of her belonging to someone else was.
"So, what will it take for you to forgive her?" Logan ventured carefully.
Harrison shot him a cold look. "You two seem to be quite close."
Logan immediately shut his mouth.
A man on high alert was a dangerous man.
He had done his best.
Anastasia stayed in the office, refusing to leave. She might not have much experience in these matters, but she wasn't a fool. This was a time for persistence. If she left now, he would be even harder to win over later!
While waiting for Harrison to return, she even slipped out to buy a bouquet of flowers. But Harrison took so long that she dozed off again on the sofa.
When Harrison walked in, he saw her curled up on the sofa, fast asleep, with a carefully arranged bouquet of roses placed beside her.
"Regarding this project, the team is very confident. They've been working overtime for the past two weeks..."
Harrison suddenly raised a hand, cutting off Mr. Smith, who was giving his report from behind.
Taking a step back, Mr. Smith finally noticed the person on the sofa and quickly fell silent.
Harrison walked over, picked up a nearby throw blanket, and gently draped it over her.
The tenderness in his careful movements was impossible to miss.
He then gestured for Mr. Smith to follow him to another office.
But just as he took a step, Anastasia woke up.
"Hubby...?" She rubbed her eyes, and upon seeing Harrison, she was instantly wide awake. "You're back!"
