Revenge Wears My Ring novel Chapter 131

After finishing her breakfast, Gwyneth rose gracefully from the table. She turned, her clear, icy gaze locking onto Bennett with unwavering determination—her eyes held no hint of hesitation or plea, only clarity and cold calculation.

“Bennett,” she said, her voice calm but carrying the weight of an ultimatum, “I need you to transfer me back to Harvest Group.”

Bennett’s dark eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly, his sharp stare cutting through her calm facade to the heart of her resolve.

Had she truly not let go of Julian?

Why would she want to go back to Harvest Group?

He didn’t ask why, nor did his expression betray any hint of offense or suspicion. He simply respected her wishes, no matter what she decided.

“All right.” The word was light, but the finality behind it was unmistakable.

With his answer, Gwyneth turned and headed upstairs to change. She could imagine the stir her return would cause at Harvest Group today.

All these years, she’d built Harvest Group’s foundations—her resources, her network—she wasn’t about to let Julian reap the rewards of her hard work.

That company was her blood, sweat, and tears. When Winston had sidelined her at Fletcher Group and she’d been forced to live under the Lockes’ roof, it was the only power she could truly call her own, the only thing she’d managed to build and protect.

Now, she was going to take it all back—with interest.

——

Harvest Group Headquarters.

The air was thick with a restless tension, like the hush before a storm.

In the break room, cubicles, even around hallway corners, whispers buzzed, voices carefully lowered but urgent.

“Did you hear? Gwyneth’s coming back!”

“No way! Didn’t Mr. Locke himself transfer her to the Locke Group’s main office? That was, what, days ago?”

“Who knows! The announcement went out—she’s starting today. Word is… she’s been demoted!”

Rumors spread like poison ivy in the shadows, twisting and multiplying. Everyone seemed convinced: Gwyneth must have screwed up. She was being sent back, tail between her legs.

After all, a transfer order signed by the CEO himself was all the proof anyone needed. If he hadn’t wanted her gone, why “deal with her” like this?

The door opened, and Gwyneth stepped out.

She wore a perfectly tailored suit, her makeup flawless, her posture straight and proud. There wasn’t the slightest hint of defeat or dejection—only the calm, steady resolve of someone who commanded her own fate.

She didn’t even glance up at the towering Harvest Group building, as if arriving here was nothing out of the ordinary.

Yet the moment she entered the marble lobby, it was as if the very air froze.

Every pair of eyes—some bold, some covert—turned to her, their stares sharp as searchlights. Curiosity, scrutiny, glee, disdain, pity… emotions tangled in an invisible web.

The receptionist’s smile wavered as she greeted her, “Ms. Fletcher, welcome back. Your desk is in Project Coordination, Section B, on the 23rd floor.”

“Project Coordination, Section B?” A woman’s mocking voice cut through the lobby.

Queenie had already gathered a few loyal followers by the elevators. She stepped forward, wearing a flawless smile tinged with feigned concern.

“Gwyneth, welcome back. I’m so sorry, but with so many projects on right now, all the key departments are full. This is just a temporary arrangement in Coordination. Don’t worry, though—the environment might not match your old office, but you’ll have everything you need.”
