Chapter 265
Chapter 265
‘Lydia, what was that?’ Lucas thought, utterly stunned. Before Lucas could even react, Lydia was already being pulled away by Emma and the others, all fussing over her in a panic.
After making sure she wasn’t hurt or bleeding, they finally breathed a sigh of relief. Only then did they whirl around to glare at Emily, ready to confront her for what she’d done.
But before anyone could get a word out, Emily cut in coldly. “If anyone dares to bring this up in front of Grandpa Charles, I will kill her. I mean it.”
Her words were a warning to everyone, but her eyes were locked intensely on Lydia, the murderous intent in her gaze almost palpable. Everyone was so intimidated by her demeanor that they momentarily forgot how to react.
Instinctively, they all felt that Emily was truly capable of murder. She really might kill someone.
While everyone was still stunned, Emily suddenly shot a look at a servant frozen in the corner. “You, go check on Grandpa Charles and see what he wants. And listen, under no circumstances are you to let him know what just happened. Got it?”
The servant jolted in fear, nodding frantically as she stammered. “Y-Yes.” After the servant left, the atmosphere once again sank into an eerie silence.
The first to react was Andrew. While feeling angry and disgusted, there was also an indescribable discomfort gnawing at him. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Emily standing before him now was someone he no longer recognized. Emily wasn’t supposed to be like this.
Andrew couldn’t help but frown. “Emily, do you even realize how much the company lost because of this mess? We haven’t even called you out for it yet, and you’re already throwing a fit.”
He went on, his voice sharp with frustration. “If we’d known you’d still be this stubborn and unrepentant, we never should have brought you back, no matter how much Grandpa Charles begged.
“Two years and you still haven’t learned. I think you should be sent to St. Gabriel Reform Academy for another two years. If you still haven’t learned your lesson, then we’ll keep you there until you become obedient and well-behaved.”
His words made Emily freeze. A wave of instinctive fear swept through her, spreading from her chest to every limb. A pain that felt even worse than her twisted, broken finger.
