Seeing that Emily was still glaring at Lydia like she wanted to kill her, Andrew stormed over and grabbed her by the arm,
furious.
“About those photos, you already played dumb and got away. Don’t even think about-” Before he could finish, Emily suddenly gave out and started to collapse.
Emily was already woozy from her head injury, and Vincent had shoved her earlier, making her hit her head again. She forced herself to come because she was worried about Charles; otherwise, she would’ve passed out long ago.
Right now, the only thing keeping Emily upright was the wall she was leaning against. When Andrew yanked her, she lost her support and was about to just collapse right there.
Andrew instinctively reached out to catch Emily, but before he could, someone suddenly grabbed his wrist and forcefully flung it back.
Andrew staggered back a couple of steps before steadying himself. Frowning, he looked up to see Austin had appeared suddenly, carefully pulling Emily into his arms.
Austin’s face was filled with worry. When his eyes landed on Emily’s blood-soaked head, he froze for a second, then a violent rage surged uncontrollably in his deep eyes.
Emily felt dazed for a moment. When she finally saw who it was, it was like a string that had been pulled tight in her heart suddenly relaxed. Her voice was a little hoarse, and her nose tingled. “Why are you here?”
Actually, ever since that night, Austin had been worried that Emily might get bullied by the Bennett Family, so he had been keeping a close eye on them.
Seeing Emily in such a mess, Austin could only blame himself for being a step too late.
He forced down the violent rage churning inside him and gave Emily the sunny smile she loved most. “Don’t be scared, Emily. I’m here. You’re not alone.”
His gaze swept over everyone in the room, as if he were trying to burn their faces into his memory. He swore he’d make them pay back a thousandfold for what they did to Emily.
Austin pulled his gaze back and gently helped Emily to her feet. “Emily, let me take care of your wounds first.”
Emily shook her head. She didn’t say a word, but her gaze stubbornly locked on the operating room. Austin understood what she meant and knew there was no use trying to talk her out of it, so he let it go.
Austin helped Emily sit down in a chair, then went to get some medicine from a nurse and personally cleaned and dressed
