Chapter 293
Chapter 293
It was easy to fall sick, but getting better was a whole different story.
Emily had been stuck at home for days, and when she finally started feeling human again, Austin immediately dragged her out for some fresh air.
But they’d barely stepped outside when they bumped right into Andrew.
Austin’s face turned even darker, and he was now dead set on moving out.
Andrew didn’t even spare Austin a glance-he just strode right up to Emily. “What-”
He’d marched over looking ready to pick a fight, but the moment he caught sight of how much thinner Emily looked, he froze, and his voice softened. “What happened to you?”
Emily didn’t bother answering him. Instead, she frowned and shot back, “Is there something you want, Mr. Bennett?”
The way she spoke made Andrew’s brow knit together, and whatever worry he’d just felt disappeared in a flash.
He didn’t beat around the bush. He just shoved the papers in her face and ordered, “Sign this.”
Emily frowned, totally confused. She took the papers and flipped through them, and then she couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief.
“You want me to unconditionally transfer 5% of my shares to Lydia? Andrew, just how stupid do you think I am?” Emily said.
It was the first time since she’d come back that Emily had spoken to Andrew in such a harsh tone, which showed just how speechless and furious she was.
Austin had always known that nothing good ever happened when the Bennett Family showed up, but he never expected the all-powerful CEO of Bennett Group to actually have the nerve to make such a shameless demand.
Even Austin almost burst out laughing in disbelief, let alone Emily.
Austin shot Andrew a frosty look but didn’t say a word. Instead, he quietly pulled out his phone.
Andrew didn’t notice Austin’s actions at all. He just frowned at Emily and said, “I’m doing this for your own good.
“You’re holding as many shares as I am; it’ll stir up trouble in the company. And you never know, some people might cozy up to you just to mess with you.”
He continued, “Besides, don’t you always say we favor Lydia? Now you and Lydia have the same shares, so that’s proof that the Bennett Family treats you both the same. You don’t have to fight with Lydia for anything anymore.”
