Chapter 319
Lydia was still being fawned over by everyone, like she was some superstar. Even though she wasn’t even the star of the show tonight, people still crowded around her, trying to win her favor.
Lydia put on a modest front, acting all shy from the compliments, but the smug look in her eyes gave her away.
She wasn’t exactly lying. She was working as a content creator, regularly posting her artwork online, and she never once showed her face in any of her videos. But all of that was just part of her plan to craft her online persona.
According to her plan, she would casually show off her artistic talent and drop subtle hints that she was an heiress from some rich family in the early videos.
Later on, she would accidentally reveal her face, and finally, she’d buy a few trending topics to easily stir up some hype.
Lydia just hadn’t expected that, right as she was getting started, someone would hand her such a big opportunity. She thought, ‘Fate clearly favors me after all.’
Lydia calmly accepted all the praise, looking for all the world as if she and Amy were old friends.
Seeing her act like that, everyone became even more convinced she was the Tato Amy was searching for. After all, who would ever imagine someone could be bold-and shameless-enough to pretend to be Tato right in front of everyone’s eyes?
So the flattery just kept getting more and more outrageous, and soon enough, people were even saying that Amy was going to take Lydia on as her final disciple.
One said, “I always knew Lydia was destined for greatness. Remember that peacock painting she casually whipped up in her sophomore year? Not only did it end up as her graduation project, but the school even added it straight to their collection.”
Another chimed in, “I went to see that painting myself. The whole vibe is so melancholic-you can feel the peacock’s heartbreak just by looking at it. With a piece that good, it’s no wonder someone tried to plagiarize it back then.”
“Hey, doesn’t that look like Emily over there?” someone said.
Everyone’s eyes followed the voice to the entrance and saw Emily walk in, wearing a simple, low-key dress.
