Chapter 322
Just as she was trying to figure out her next move, a sudden commotion caught everyone’s attention.
A woman, who looked to be in her forties or fifties, slowly made her way down the spiral staircase.
She wasn’t dressed in a fancy gown for the occasion. Instead, she wore an outfit that came off as laid-back and understated, yet she still exuded an undeniable elegance.
Someone exclaimed, “It’s Amy.”
A lot of people immediately started crowding around Amy, including the ones who had been blocking Emily’s way.
Lydia glanced around, then quickly followed the crowd, discreetly tucking the invitation away.
Watching them all deliberately avoid her, pretending like it was just a coincidence, Emily couldn’t help but find it kind of funny. She didn’t want to make a scene at an event like this, so she didn’t bother trying to confront them.
As for the invitation Lydia had taken, it wasn’t really that important anyway, so Emily didn’t bother chasing after it.
Meanwhile, Lydia was running her fingers over the invitation in her bag, her gaze sharp and ruthless. She thought, ‘No matter who Tato used to be, from now on, Tato is me and me alone.
‘As for Emily, I’ll make sure that in Amy’s eyes she remains nothing but a joke-someone never to be taken seriously.
*****
After spending two years at St. Gabriel Reform Academy, Emily was already an outsider in the art world. And since she was keeping things low-key today, barely anyone even noticed she was there.
That just made it easier for her to keep a close watch on Lydia, looking for the perfect chance to quietly snag a bit of her DNA without anyone catching on.
But no matter where Lydia went, she always had a crowd trailing after her. Even Amy looked at her like she was someone special, staying by her side and talking to her for ages.
Thanks to Amy’s attitude, even more people flocked to Lydia’s side.
