Chapter 331
He stared in disbelief for a moment, then realization dawned on his face. “Number Seven taught you that, didn’t she?” When Brady mentioned Number Seven, his voice was full of disgust and contempt, like he was talking about something dirty.
Emily’s face turned icy. “She’s not Number Seven. She’s Deborah.”
Deborah was one of the friends Emily made at St. Gabriel Reform Academy. She’d been an orphan, but through her efforts, she’d worked her way up to become a top bodyguard at a security firm.
Unlike the others, who were sent to St. Gabriel Reform Academy by their families. Deborah had been sent there by her employer. She was stunning, and her employer had taken a fancy to her. But she turned him down.
Even though Deborah was one of the company’s top bodyguards, she had no power. When her employer offered enough money, the company didn’t hesitate to sell her out.
Deborah fought back hard, and in the struggle, she accidentally hurt her employer. That was why he sent her to St. Gabriel Reform Academy.
Emily had picked up a lot from Deborah, such as self-defense tricks and clever ways to get out of tight spots.
Brady caught the chill in Emily’s tone, but he didn’t care in the slightest. He let out a mocking laugh. “I don’t get what you Stray Dogs are after.
“If you’d just obey and act well, the academy might treat you well. But you just have to do things so badly you end up losing your lives.
“Ten Stray Dogs, and now only you, the weakest one, is left. So what if you’ve got dirt on the academy? You’re still just barely clinging to life, aren’t you?
“If I were you, I’d have taken a rope and ended it long ago. Why keep pretending to be tough, living every day in fear?”
His voice was full of temptation, like he couldn’t wait to hand her the rope himself.
Emily stayed perfectly calm, even letting out a short laugh. “If I die, aren’t you afraid that all the dirt on you will go public?”
