After Tyrone dropped Alicia off at school, he headed straight to Lawson & Co.
The charade with Vincent would have to continue a while longer.
Meanwhile, as soon as Alicia set foot on campus, Natalia and a group of girls from their school blocked her path.
“Alicia, I have something to discuss with you,” Natalia announced, her tone dripping with arrogance. There was no hint of negotiation—just a flat-out order.
No one really knew where Natalia got her airs from. She was just a scholarship student sponsored by Maddox Lynch, but she strutted around like she owned the place.
In the past, Alicia had played along, hoping to glean some clue about the real power behind Natalia. But since Tyrone had confirmed that Natalia wasn’t even close to the real mastermind, Alicia saw no point in indulging her any longer.
She simply looked at Natalia with cool indifference, saying nothing.
“Easton’s been living in a hotel—it’s just not right,” Natalia pressed on. “Even if you and Tyrone can’t give him your current house, you should at least let him have the old cottage. Tyrone is Easton’s brother, after all. Family should show some generosity, don’t you think? It would look good to outsiders, too. They’d see how magnanimous Tyrone is.”
Of course, Natalia’s motives had nothing to do with concern for Easton. She just hated that he was tucked away at the Azure Heights Hotel, one of the Lynch Corporation’s luxury properties, where security was tight and surveillance cameras were everywhere. If she wanted to pull any stunts, that setting made it nearly impossible.
Besides, Easton was socially clueless. He’d already complained that the hotel wasn’t exactly ideal for bringing girls over. That made Natalia anxious—if she could get him his own place, the girl from last night could “drop by” and “take care” of him more easily.
“My husband’s property is none of your business,” Alicia shot back, her eyes flashing with challenge. “If we let him have the house, it’s out of kindness—not obligation. Nobody owes you anything, so what are you going to do about it?”
