Arnold was stunned.
He looked at Amelia with a complicated look and said, "You remember that."
"Well, how can I forget it?" Amelia pouted.
The reasons why Arnold and Samuel knew each other was because they used to live close. But the place where they lived was not in the villa areas but instead in a remote village where Samuel, Amelia, and Sean used to come when they were teenagers.
Well, it was more like they were driven there by their parents so that they could appreciate life more.
The youngest Sean was busy playing around.
But Samuel met with Arnold and then get to know the other party.
During the school break afterwards, the others such as Stephen and Ruben would also tag along and the boys played together.
As for what they were playing about, Amelia didn’t know much.
When they were about to enter university, Arnold told them that he was about to leave to a far away place.
"I’m going to go to a dangerous place and I might not be able to come back again. When I have time, I’ll try to go back from time to time," Amelia said in a solemn tone, imitating Arnold’s words.
Arnold rubbed his forehead. "Well, I said it to those three and not to you... But I understand what you want to tell me. Since I can stay alive for more than 10 years after that, it means that I can deal with it."
Amelia had the look of ’I don’t believe it.’
She was not stupid and knew about Arnold’s real profession.
Before his departure, both Stephen and Samuel tried to stop him, saying that they could help him. Unfortunately, the stubborn Arnold refused and said that he had his own opportunities and that they would meet again in the future.
Well, they did meet again.
But it was many years later and Arnold would come back from time to time.
"I can protect you now, so... can you not always avoiding me?" Arnold said slowly helplessly.
Amelia was 12 years old when Arnold said that sentence. He thought that she would have forgotten about it because it was such a long time ago.
Unfortunately, he was wrong.
She could still remember everything very clearly, including his tone when he talked with Samuel and the others.
"I never avoided you!" Amelia retorted and pouted. She felt heat on her face and turned her head away, not wanting him to see her embarrassment.
Arnold looked at Amelia’s appearance and laughed lightly. He rubbed his nose and said, "After this, Samuel asks us to stay in City I Base. I’ll not let those things bother you."
Amelia looked at Arnold’s serious look and felt that he’s really handsome. She sighed deeply and felt that even if she wanted to be angry with him, it was really useless.
Because no matter what he said, she felt that she would definitely accept him.
