Overdrawn
Riya didn't know how many talisman she has used by now. Even though she did make a few more talisman on her way here, but the large number of rank 7 magic beasts truly exceeded her cognition.
'If this continued, I might end up overdrawing my own life.'
Bang!
Throwing away these rank 7 magic beasts once more, Riya could finally get close to the crack. She had collected more than enough rank 7 magic beasts' blood through the harsh battle to reach this damn crack, so she simply started drawing the necessary formation.
Swish! Swish!
Just like before, Riya multitasked and quickly completed the formation to block these rank 7 magic beasts.
Bang!
When the formation was finally activated, Riya could finally heave a sigh of relief. There were no other rank 7 magic beasts around and the weaker magic beasts could be dealt with by the other soldiers around.
They were still working at the distance and Riya could see them working quite hard.
"Thank you very much for your help, Miss Riya!" The soldiers saluted when they saw Riya walking towards them.
Riya nodded and then said, "I'm just doing my duty."
And the government will compensate her for her work today.
Riya had already strengthened that formation and even if there were a lot of rank 7 magic beasts rushing over, the second layer of formation could still block them in case the formation was broken.
"This… the higher ups wanted to know how long the formation can last?"
"Depends on the attack's intensity," Riya replied without hesitation. "If the intensity is high, 5 days are the limit. But if it's slow, it can last for a month."
One month.
The soldier's eyes lit up when he heard this answer. If the formation could truly last that long, they would not have to bother Riya too much. Anyway, if the magic beasts that came out of the crack were not rank 7 magic beasts, they could actually still deal with it themselves.
Riya could guess what they were thinking when she saw their look, but she was too lazy to explain.
Besides, the so called deal with the higher ups was not something that she could touch.
Uh… it was more like, she was too lazy to care.
"Hmm, how's the situation in Continent W?" Riya suddenly asked something. They were at the border between Continent Z and Continent W, so she wanted to know how the returnee from Continent W was doing.
If Riya was not wrong, the returnee from Continent W is Jonas Nolan, the alchemist.
An alchemist was more of a support position and from what Riya heard, he was not someone who often fought on the frontline. Even if he has some strength and managed to reach rank 6 with the medicine he made, it would be difficult for him to deal with the rank 7 magic beasts like other returnees.
Even though Riya herself should have been a logistic person too, but her own firepower was not weak, so she never positioned herself as one.
Anyway, there wouldn't be any difference even if she fought by herself.
"I'm fine." Jonas Nolan waved his hand helplessly. He knew very well that his own combat ability was relatively weak and if he were to force himself to do other things, he wouldn't be able to help them.
His current position was very good.
"Mr. Jonas…" the soldier looked at Jonas Nolan who was about to fall down worriedly.
"Don't worry, I know my limit." Jonas Nolan chuckled. No matter what, he's still a rank 6 magician and it was impossible for him to fall so easily. What he needed to do was to focus on making more medicine for the soldiers so that they could deal with the magic beasts.
He staggered back to the alchemy room and continued to make more medicine, focusing his attention on the cauldron in front of him.
With the help of this cauldron, he could make any medicine that was lower than his current rank easily. The only drawback was that it would consume more of his mana, making him very tired.
But it was worth it.
Swish! Swish!
Pouring the medicinal herbs into the cauldron, Jonas Nolan added water appropriately as he mixed the potion and poured mana inside. After some time, one batch was finished and Jonas Nolan easily repeated this process several times.
When he was done, he would took the box containing a lot of potion out of his alchemy room and met with the soldier who was guarding him.
"Mr. Jonas, we will deliver the medicine for you!" The soldier quickly took the box over from Jonas Nolan.
"It's good." Jonas Nolan smiled.
The other soldier who saw this looked even more worried. "Mr. Jonas, you don't have to work so hard. The returnee we requested to help has arrived on the border…"
