Nivera’s feet continued to walk backwards until her back hit the wall.
She didn’t have any chance to escape as he came to stand in front of her, and she stared back at him, her heart racing.
He brought his hand up and near her face, tucking the piece of her hair behind her ear.
And even though she didn’t feel his touch on her skin, she felt him play with her hair as it escaped between his fingers.
“Alejandro.” Her voice came out in a raspy breath as her body

and her eyes widened.
‘That won’t be the last time, Cabezota. So prepare yourself!‘
How could she forget? She had spent so much time replaying it in her head that it was now engraved in her head.
“You do,” Alejandro smiled as he keenly observed Nivera. He had meant it when he said it, and what better way to show that he was serious than no.
She was anxious, and he knew just how to ‘calm‘ her down. The method was so effective that it would calm him down too.
“I doubt I have the patience to wait anymore,” stated Alejandro, placing one hand on the wall.
Nivera felt his eyes scan her face, looking at her eyes, then her nose, before they came to settle on her lips.
“Did you like what happened between us? What I did to you.”
Nivera was not dumb enough to not know what Alejandro was questioning her about, but his question caught her off guard.
He really loved to embarrass her with his words and actions
“l–i…”
“It’s a yes or no answer,” Alejandro made it simpler for her, noticing the way her body hummed.

Speaking of answers, why didn’t you tell me you had to run into a coffee shop all thanks to the guards?”
-I didn’t think it was important,” Nivera responded.
“Your job is to tell me everything that happens; mine is to determine what is important or not, Cabezota,” he deadpanned.
“And while we’re on the topic of jobs, Darren and the driver are losing theirs!”
“No, don’t; it wasn’t their fault!” Nivera exclaimed, and this made him squint his eyes at her.
“Seeing as you’re jumping to their defence just makes me want to fire them more.”
“No, I’m not jumping to their defence, I promise! They were coming to get me after I left the building, but I panicked and went into the coffee shop, where I met Zabelle!”
She hoped the mention of his sister–in–law would make him calm down and rethink his decision, as she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she were responsible for getting two people fired.
“Hmm,” Alejandro hummed, making it difficult to tell what he was thinking.
“Alejandro, are you going to fire them?” asked Nivera.
“I’ll think about it,” remarked Alejandro. “So tell me, did you like what I did to you?”
Nivera’s head lightly spun, and thankfully the wall behind her supported her.
Letting go of something was something that didn’t exist in Alejandro’s world.
She closed her eyes, trying to calm her beating heart, which seemed impossible

“Yes, what?” Alejandro questioned, as if he wasn’t satisfied with the initial option he had given her.
Her cheeks burnt brighter, and her body turned warm, not knowing what her answer would lead to.
Well, she did.
“Don’t make me wait, Cabezota. Remember, we have a dinner to get to.” Alejandro’s eyes turned darker and intense, as if he was trying to control his
