Steam curled from the bathroom as Alejandro stepped out of the shower, his body will dripping.
Droplets clung to his chest, trailing down his abs and disappearing into the towel wrapped around his waist
He moved slowly with purpose, rubbing a hand over his jaw as he exhaled.
The scalding water hadn’t washed away the tension, but at least it had gotten rid of the blood and the dirt
His expression was unreadable–cold, focused. The kind of look that would terrify anyone who knew what he was capable of, the kind one only saw when they were about to meet their doom
As Alejandro walked into his room, he noticed a file on the sola. His eyes narrowed as he crossed the room and picked it up immediately flipping it open
Inside was Nivera’s passport and the three thousand dollars in cash she had likely saved for a long time, which she planned on using to escape.
Her getaway plan in one small folder. He let out a slow exhalo–half amusement, hall disbelief.
She really thought she could run
Alejandro clicked his tongue and closed the file. He moved to his walk–in closet and keelt in front of the built in sale.
With a few quick turns of the dial, the mechanism clicked open. He placed the passport and the money inside and locked it again. Until he was bored and finished with her, she wasn’t going anywhere.
Minutes later, he was dressed–black shirt, black jeans, matching leather boots
The epitome of clean and lethal. His damp hair clung slightly to his forehead as he picked up his phone from the bedside table.
He was immediately hit with a lot of messages. The most recent being from Antonio
“Where the hell are you?”
“Are you in trouble!”
“You better not be doing anything stupid.”
“kill you
you
These were some of the messages that greeted it from Antonio. He didn’t bother replying just like he had ignored the previous message
Then he saw a message from Martin
“We found them” It was a simple message but it spoke volumes.
Alejandro’s lips curved into something far from a smile. More like a promise, one that held only disaster.
He immediately typed back: “Hold on. I’ll be there soon.”
Grabbing his car keys, he headed downstairs. The house was silent and he wondered what Nivers was up to as he knew the helpers would have tradi for the day
As he approached the living room, he noticed Nivera hunched over her phone, eyes glued to the screen. His photo was pulled up, along with an article So, she was reading about him.
How flattering

Chapter 13
With a slow, predatory grin, he walked over, bent down, and whispered into her ear, “You’ve got good taste… but not lima, wakien
know about me rather than reading about it, carito,”
Nivera screamed, her phone ying out of her hand as she jumped up, startled. Her chest heared with fright, and her eyes flared with fire where the tem
“Are you crazy?!” she slapped
He shrugged, clearly entertained. “You were reading about me, I figured I’d make a live appearance. Special edition.”
She glared at him, ja tightening, but didn’t speak. A second later, she opened her mouth, probably ready to curse him out, but stopped herself,
Smart pr
Alejandro–nodded toward the phone. “Still trying to impress me? Or is this a stalker phase”
“I’m not trying to impress you,” she said flatly
He smirked. “Sure you’re not. That’s why you were gawking at my yacht pictures, huh? Checking out my abs
Mivera groaned and turned away, muttering something about narcissists
Alejandro chuckled and began walking toward the door as he had a very important place to be
“Wait,” she called her him “Are you… are you dropping me home?”
He didn’t even pause as he answered “No”
“What the hell do you mean no?”
Silence. He wasn’t going to dignity her question with a response and so he kept walking
“Hey! You’re just going to walk away again!” she shouted, following him.
He opened the door, looked back at her once–expression blank–and slammed the door shut in her face.
“Asshole!” she yelled behind it. She hadn’t even seen that side yet.
Outside, and stood waiting near the garage
“Should I drive, sir? the man asked.
Alejandro stared at his sleek black car and cursed under his breath. It was too flashy for the neighborhood they were heading to
He didn’t want to attract attention as the Governor would curse him out if he had to cover up another murder for him.
“No. Take another car,” he said, tossing the keys back.
The guard moved to a less conspicuous vehicle–an older black SUN, used mainly for surveillance. Alejandro examined it briefly and noted
“You can drive,” he said, getting into the passenger seat.
Within minutes, they were on their way.
The drive was long and quiet, winding through the outskirts of the city until they reached the slums. It was a place most people pretended didn’t exist a forgotten zone, riddled with addicts, gangs, and desperation.
Martin’s car was camouflaged in the shadows and the moonless sky cloaked them in darkness

Chapter 13
Alejandro stepped out, his boots crunching against the gravel as Martit joined him.
“Which one lives here?” he asked, scanning the rundown apartment building
“The one you stabbed. The other two are still hiding with Nathaniel. He abandoned this one after the injury said he was useless nove
Alejandro’s jaw ticked. “Perfect.”
They approached the building. Two other men flanked them. No one made a sound.
They moved up the creaky stairs like ghosts.
Martin kicked the door open without warning
The man inside, mid thirties greasy, wearing a stained tank top–jerked in surprise. He was nursing a bottle of cheap p whiskey, his leg wrapped in grize.
His eyes went wide as he saw Alejandro step inside like a demon summoned.
“No, no, no…please,” he whispered, already shaking. “didn’t know she–I was just told to
Good, the man knew what awaited him and it was already saving them a lot of time.
“You helped them,” Alejandro said calmly, his voice like ice. “You drove her You knew what they were going to do to her, and you still took the money.”
“I was desperate!” the man cried. “They said they’d pay double–triple if I didn’t ask questions! I didn’t know-
Alejandro tilted his head. “You know. And even if you didn’t you didn’t care. You let them do what they wanted because you wanted the cash at the expense of someone ebe..”
The man dropped to his knees. “Please, man. I’ve got kids-
“You should’ve thought about that before you became an accomplice to rape”
The man sobbed. “I didn’t touch her swear to God, I never laid a finger on hert”
Alejandro didn’t blink. “But you handed her over.”
He raised his gun.
*Please I’ll never…
The shot was clean and thanks to the silencer, it was silent. Straight through the heart.
Then another through the forehead to ensure he would never return to the land of the living
Silence returned as the man’s body slumped to the floor, blood pooling beneath him.
