Chapter 33
Alejandro leaned in closer and simply said, “Because I needed to.”
“That’s not an answer.
“You’re really pushing a lot of boundaries,” he remarked, and he noticed Nivera subtly pulling back
“But since you must know, it’s because she’s been on my back about settling down for years. Because bringing a woman here as my date wouldn’t have stopped the questions. But bringing you and calling you my girlfriend? It stops everything”
“You had planned it from the start, and you lied,” she said in a whisper, as she hadn’t forgotten his previous words before he answered her question.
“I didn’t. I merely withheld information.” Alejandro corrected unapologetically.
“And when she finds out it was a lie?”
He pulled back, looking at her, “Who tells
Is you she’s going to find out?” He grinned, cockiness dripping from him
“And what about me?”
“What about you?” He raised an eyebrow
“I’m not part of your game, Alejandro.”
“See, that’s why you’re wrong,” he retorted. “You are the pawn in my game and who will be sacrificed for the king and when I’m done with you…”
He didn’t complete his words, letting her do so herself. His words did enough to ruin her mood.
She was supposed to have gotten used to his words and his intention for her, but she hadn’t, and she didn’t think she’d ever get used to it
She was a person, not a fucking object!
“Waiter!” Alejandro suddenly called, and within seconds, the waiter appeared,
“The bride looks tired. Serve her something non–alcoholic now,” he ordered, and the waiter immediately left to fulfil his order,
“Come, let’s go greet the bride,” he said, standing up. He stretched his hands to Nivera, leaving her with no option but to take it.
“I don’t want to greet the bride,” she, however, said stubbornly.
“Cabezotal” Alejandro hissed under his breath. “GET UP. NIVERA!”
“No,” Nivera didn’t budge. What was she supposed to say to someone she had never met?
“You do realize that the wedding will end, and you’ll have to be alone with me?”
She heard Alejandro say,
she was reminded of that fact. Defying him was shooting herself in the foot, as it would come back to haunt her.
“GET, UP. NIVERA!” He said once again and this time, she got up. A yelp escaped from her when he gripped it firmly.
He then led her to the table where the bride way‘ sitting.
“No, thank you,” the bride rejected the drink he had asked the waiter to send.
“I was the one who asked him to give it to you,” Alejandro’s voice cut through her hesitation.
The bride turned to look at them and their eyes met, to which Nivera looked away, not bothering to hide the invitation in her eyes.

Chapter 33
Alejandro, slid into the chat across from the bride and like he owned the place. He probably did, as this was one of his family’s buildings.
“Having to pretend to want to talk to people must be tiring,” he said to the bride ass
finally took the drink from the warter.
“Aren’t you going to have a sest? The bride finally spoke to her,
Hell nol Nivera thought to herself, and she didn’t hesitate to let the bride know.
“No,” she replied curtly and turned to sit elsewhere, completely ignoring Alejandro, who had a look of displeasure on his face.
She was stubborn as well as stupid for riling him up, she knew and recognized that fact. But was that going to stop her?
No.
“Ahh, okay?” Alejandro heard Zabelle mutter, and when he turned to face her, she had a look of confusion on her face. Nivera liked playing with fire, and tonight, she was going to get burnt.
“Ignore her; she’s a bit feisty, I made her attend the wedding” He waved it off.
“So, finally, you are officially a part of the Garcia family. Let me formally welcome you.” He raised his glass toward her.
It wasn’t as though he liked her, but at the same time, he didn’t hate her. He was just indifferent about her and a bit curious as to how she got Antonio to get married.
It was definitely not only about revenge, but then again, it was really none of his business.
He was only there so it wouldn’t be as though he hadn’t congratulated her.
“Thank you,” Zabelle simply responded.
“You know, I should play a prank to kick off a family tradition,” he teased with a smirk, the same one that fooled people.
“if you want to do that, why not get married and play the prank on your wife?” she shot back.
Alejandro, who decided to take a sip of his drink, choked on it.
The chances of aliens being real were higher than the chances of him ever getting into an actual relationship, talkless of getting married.
“Marriage is not for me, and so we won’t be having another wedding in the family anytime soon,” he finally replied.
“So, do you plan on being a playboy all your life?” She asked.
“Of course. It’s really fun being one,” Alejandro said excitedly. “Plus, women are too much drama.”
The one who had walked away a few moments ago had to be the most dramatic one he had ever met.
“You do realize that you’re sitting in front of one,” Zabelle said flatly.
“Cheers to that.” He lifted his glass again, grinning
“Your friend is trying to leave the party, by the way!
There was only one person that could be, and he turned to check. He was right. “Ah, see what I mean–drama,” he sighed and rose from his seat
And just like that he left.
Aher walking away from Alejandro and the bride, she went back to the table she had been sitting at before Alejandro dragged her away.
