“Welcome home, sir,” his head helper greeted him as he walked through the doors of his mansion.
“Good afternoon,” he simply said and he began to head up to his room. As he did, he remembered how he had wanted nothing more than to come and rest the previous night.
And all thanks to a certain woman stabbing in the neck with an injection, that didn’t happen
As soon as he got into his room, he took off his blood stained shirt and he stepped into the bathroom.
Without wasting a second more, he got rid of the rest of his clothes and stepped into the shower.
The hot water cascaded over his skin, washing away the filth of the previous day, but his mind remained anything but clean
He had gone to the club with the intention of finding the assholes who were trying to cause trouble and while he had gotten rid of them, he couldn’t care less about who sent them
Rather, he started reliving, his moments with Nivora, and as he did his thoughts simmered with something darker–a desire to make Nivers pay
She had’stabbed him. Drugged him. Humiliated him, and she thought she could escape? That she could just disappear and move on with
Alejandro let out a humorless chuckle, running a hand through his wet hair. Foolish woman. If she thought he wouldn’t keep an eye on her, she was gravely mistaken.
Stepping out of the shower, he wrapped a towel around his waist and headed out of the bathroom. As soon as he was out, he immediately went to his phone and picked up.
He had missed almost an entire day of work and he wasn’t in the mood to go to the office.
The screen Et up with messages- most from work, some from Antonio, and others from women who wanted his attention.
He scrolled through them with mild disinterest until a call from his secretary came in
He immediately answered, and they began discussing urgent matters he had neglected while dealing with the chaos of the day
The conversation dragged longer than he would have liked, and when he finally disconnected, his eyes landed on an unread message from one of his
His brows furrowed as he read the contents
“Sir, the woman attempted to flee but the taxi she got into didn’t take her to the airport”
He read and reread the message e over and over again and they told him only one thing: Nivera had been kidnapped.
A sharp frown appeared on his face and he immediately called the men he had assigned to tail her
“Why didn’t you do anything?” he snapped, his voice cold and laced with imitation
“You told us not to approach her or be seen under any circumstances,” the man reminded him, cautious of Alejandro’s temper. “We followed your orders,
Alejandro cursed under his breath. He had given that order expecting Nivera to notice them, panic, and try to flee, not get herself abducted.
“Where is she now?” he demanded.
“We tracked her to a penthouse in one of your family’s buildings. We’ll send you the address now.”
Chapter 9
Alejandro sted, momentarily processing the information. A slow smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. How rane. She had bee properties
“171 be there soon.” He ended the call and quickly got dressed, his mind alrearly working though his next move,
By the time he finished, the address was already sent and he immediately forwarded it to his head of security
As he stepped out of his mansion, he called Martins,
“Nivera has been kidnapped. Horwarded you where she has been taken to find out who is behind it before i get there
“On it,” Martins responded and he disconnected the call.
“Nivera Elton, if he doesn’t kill you, I’m going to do so myself, he hissed in annoyance.
Today was supposed to be a work free day all thanks to her and she had snatched it back from him. What an utterly annoying woman!
By the time Alejandro arrived at the building, the two men he had assigned to monitor hivera were waiting for him.
As soon as she stepped out of his car, they approached him.
“We couldn’t get past the lobby,” one of them reported. “The security here is tight–only residents and authorized personnel are allowed beyond this point.
Martins called at that point.
“Only one person in that building has any known ties to Nivera–Nathaniel Blackwell,” he informed Alejandro.
Alejandro’s eyes darkened. Nathaniel.
He knew of the man’s predatory reputation. He had always been a disgusting bastard, preying on women with less power, less influence.
Alejandro clenched his jaw, something unfamiliar twisting in his gut. He told himself it was just irritation, nothing more.
Even though Nivera admitted to being an escort, the fact that Nathaniel kidnapped her didn’t speak well of his intentions.
Alejandro hummed in understanding at the men as his family were the ones who made the rules. It was hard to blame them for that.
The building housed the rich and powerful, after all. But security of not, this was his demain, He didn’t need permission.
“Follow me,” he said and the three of them headed into the building.
As they passed by the security who bowed at them, he saw him whispering something to his earpiece, no doubt informing the management that he was
there.
As it on cue, the manager rushed forward when they stepped into the building, his face pale with nervousness. “Mr. Garcia, what an unexpected visit
“I don’t have time for pleasantries,” Alejandro cut him off. “Get me access to Nathaniel Blackwell’s penthouse.”
The manager paled further but quickly gestured foran employee to fetch a key card. Within moments, Alejandro had what he needed.
“Stay here until I give further instructions,” he ordered before heading toward the elevator, his men following closely behind.
The elevator doors slid open, and Alejandro stepped out, his grip tightening around the key card. He swiped it through the lock and pushed open the door–only to be met with an immediate attack.
A man lunged at him with a knife.
Alejandro reacted swiftly, dodging the initial strike. The man aimed for his side, but Alejandro twisted, redirecting the blade with practiced case show
Chapter 9
not only that he was highly trained but that it wasn’t the first time he was doing such,
The next thing his attacker knew, the knife was buried in his own arm.
Alejandro pulled the knife out, the man collapsing in pain as his blood splattered onto Alejandro’s fresh white shirt.
“Damn it,” Alejandro muttered, glancing down at the mess. “This was new”
Meanwhile, his men took care of the other two guards in the room, efficiently neutralizing them
With the path now clear, Alejandro snatched a silenced gun from one of the fallen men. He took a steading breath before pushing open the bedr door and what he saw made his blood boil.
Nivera was tied to the bed, half naked, her skis marked with bruises from rough handling.
Alejandro didn’t hesitate. He grabbed a blanket and threw it over her, concealing her from prying eyes.
Nathaniel, who had been standing by the bed, took a step back, his face paling.
“MrGarcia,” he stammered, forcing a nervous chuckle. “This is a misunderstanding
Alejandro didn’t respond. Instead, he lifted the gun and shot Nathaniel in the leg. The man let out a strangled cry, falling to hiske
-The fuck?” He yelled in pain.
“I assume you didn’t think I was going to shoot because of my playful reputation?” Alejandro asked, his voice calm, almost amused
Nathaniel whimpered, pressing a hand to his bleeding leg. “—”
“Big mistake,” Alejandro murmured. He crouched, leveling his gaze with Nathaniel’s. “That reputation? It’s a farce. I am just as much of a devil,”
Everyone knew him as the Garcia who was different because he was playful and jovial unlike the rest of the men in his family but what they didn’t know was that he did that to make people lower their guard around him.
