Liam Chandler was speaking.
Xander looked down at the woman on the screen, dressed in a black business suit, bright and capable, confident and generous, exuding an air of pride.
He couldn’t help but recall the various times he had seen her.
Clumsy, dejected, broken, and today…trying her best to appear amicable, then humiliated, and fleeing in embarrassment…
A touch of annoyance crept into his heart. His wolf was even more relentless in its righteousness, “HAHAHA, REGRET IT NOW?”
His remarks earlier had been a bit harsh.
I woke up at around 9 pm, cooked noodles in the kitchen, and my phone buzzed a few times.
It was a message.
From Liam Chandler.
After asking about his master’s height, weight, and measurements, he hadn’t replied to me.
Now, he sent a series of numbers.
And a few sentences: My master says you should compensate him for his suit; I’m here to inform you in case you are confused when choosing one.
I had a shocked expression:
??
My wolf was even more confused, “WHAT DID THIS MEAN? IS HE CRAZT?”
Could it be…he’d changed his mind and wanted to give me another chance as the chief secretary? The thought was quickly dismissed.
No, no, self–admiration is the worst… On second thought, it was also possible, that he was preventing me from using the suit as an excuse to approach him again, preemptively warning me not to play any more tricks.
If I misinterpreted his meaning and went to see him wearing the suit, I might be met with another round of ridicule.
I did want the job.
But I wouldn’t sacrifice my dignity for it.
I cautiously replied, “Okay, I’ve noted the measurements, and I’ll buy and mail the suit to you as soon as possible.”
Liam Chandler reported back to Xander, “Ms. Wells says she’s noted the measurements and will mail the suit to you as soon as possible.”

“Should I…” Liam Chandler understood that his master was giving Sophia a chance and felt sorry. for her, so he added, “Remind her?”
“If she doesn’t want to, don’t force her.”
“…““How do you know she doesn’t want to? Liam Chandler found his master’s words strange but didn’t say anything more.
The next day, I went shopping for a suit.
As soon as I left, a car followed me.
I visited several department stores in MoonCloud Pack, comparing and selecting suits with similar fabrics and styles to his smoky gray suit.
I spent over two hours, my legs aching, and still hadn’t found anything suitable. It wasn’t that smoky gray suits were rare; his suit was clearly a custom–made piece of high–end tailoring, incomparable to any brand.
I sat on an outdoor bench, imagining his condescending and disdainful expression upon receiving the suit…..
