Shattered Then Healed By His Love (by Haley Blanton) novel Chapter 175

Chapter 175 A Trip to Sinoria

His voice was low. “What are you going there for?”

Natalie paused for a moment. “I’m going to Sinoria.”

“To do what?” Marcus’s brow furrowed in confusion.

“To see someone about something important,” she said directly.

He nodded slowly and released her, saying nothing more. Natalie opened the car door and walked back toward the clinic.

Marcus raised the partition in the car and looked at the driver. “Aren’t we also going to Sinoria tomorrow?

James nodded. “Yes, sir. There’s a project launch, and you need to be there for the ribbon- cutting ceremony. We have to arrive before eleven in the morning.”

“Have someone keep an eye on Natalie. Find out who she’s meeting in Sinoria and what she’s doing.” The man’s voice was soft, betraying no emotion.

“Right away.”

That night, at the Hayes family home.

Zoey handed her phone to Victoria. “My informant just said that Natalie bought a high–speed rail ticket to Sinoria for eight o’clock tomorrow morning.”

Victoria, who had been scrolling through online comments, looked up sharply. “What is she going to Sinoria for?”

“It’s not clear. She’ll arrive at ten and has a return ticket for the afternoon of the day after tomorrow,” Zoey said, her voice low. “She must be going for a reason.”

Victoria’s hand, holding the phone, tightened. After a moment, she said, “In that case, let’s make sure she never comes back.”

Zoey was shocked. “Are you really going that far?”

The next morning, after leaving Lily with Lucy, Natalie headed to the station. As she walked, she had the unnerving feeling that someone was following her. But every time she looked back, she saw nothing. Dismissing it as paranoia, she boarded the train and found her seat.

The trip from Brookvale to Sinoria took two hours. When she disembarked, she saw Noah waiting for her at the station exit. He was dressed in a white robe, a string of sandalwood beads. wrapped around his wrist. He had a gentle, scholarly air, an almost clerical presence that seemed to set him apart from the world.

“It’s been a long time.”

“Noah…”

She hurried toward him. He opened his arms, and she met him in a light, familial hug. Noah had begun studying medicine and jade carving with her grandfather when she was still in the sixth grade. He had watched her grow up and had always treated her like a little sister, his eyes always holding a look of deep, familial affection.

“Come on,” he said, gently patting her head. “I’ll show you the emerald, and then tonight, we’ll go out to eat. There’s a new food street that just opened nearby. I think you’ll like it.”

She nodded. “Okay. Whatever you say.”

Noah still lived in the same villa her grandfather had owned in Sinoria: The Sanctuary. The large characters on the plaque above the gate were just as she remembered them, a familiar sight in an unfamiliar city.
