Sold To the Grizzly Don (Alcee and Bruno) novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123

Alcee kept her chin up as they entered the restaurant, not surprised to s way or another.

see ever

every guest was someone associated with the Lozano family in one

There was a long table, set banquet style in the middle of the room with several smaller tables of four and six people dotted around but the main table, in the middle of the mom, was clearly meant for the Don and his immediate family.

She walked with Antero holding her hand tightly, hating the way all eyes were on here as much as her son clearly did. The entire room was on their feet respectfully as they entered the space, Tito and Amal walking in ahead of them not even mildly dissuading the whispers about Torq and his family.

The paparazzi managed to get multiple shots, as Torq expected of him but what she hadn’t expected was how he, Tito and multiple other men, used their bodies to hide her and Antero. She’d not noticed it when they left the condo building but he was literally using his body to shield the camera lenses from getting a shot of Antero’s face.

They were escorted to the table, Torq seated at the head of the table. She’d been to enough of these types of dinners with her father to know the Don sits at the head, his right and left hand on either side of him. Wives and children at the end. So, she was absolutely stunned when she and Antero were seated at his right hand. Tito sat opposite her with Amal at his side. Bastiano was seated next to Antero with Raniero and his mother to his side. Cicciu sat at the other end of the table. It meant, Lorita and Brunella were seated across from Clanna.

Her lips twisted at the expression on Brunella’s face. It was evident she’d not been trained the same way Alcee was trained growing up to hide her thoughts as if like were a poker game. Brunella was sneering at her plate as if looking anywhere else was going to cause her to snap. She Inoked at Torq, waiting for him to sit in his chair and not allowing Antero to sit until he did. This was all about respect and honor and as head of the family, he was to sit first.

Torq shat her a smile as he realized what she was doing. He walked back from his chair and moved to pull hers out, kissed her cheek and encouraged her to sit. She was dumbfounded. This was not the way in any family she’d ever visited. The men were the head of the household. The man was the one who got all the respect. Torq should absolutely not be seating her first.

Yet he did and then he moved to take his seat, flicked his fingers to the room and everyone else sat down quietly. He then waved to the servers to begin pouring drinks and setting the bread on the table. She was stunned when Torq put his hand over his wine glass and motioned to Alcee’s glass first.

My wife is first. Always. Do not forget this again.

Yes sir.The man bowed deeply and offered the option of a red or white. He then poured wine in the glass for Alcee to taste.

Antero fidgeted beside her, and she rubbed his hand softly. This is weird,” he declared loudly,

She heard multiple snickers from around the room, but she leaned down and whispered quietly, we need to use our indoor voices, Antero.

He sighed and shot Torg ap angry look, still not forgiving him for their argument in the car.

Children should be seen and not heard.

The woman’s voice from down her table made Alcee look to Tory and the glance he gave his mother told her to hold her tongue. He then spoke, Cianna, he is my son. If he wants to stand in the middle of the fucking table and do the hokey pokey, I’m going to entertain that shit

While the words sounded moderately lighthearted, the tone was anything but and the room turned to look at her. Akcee hadn’t even taken good look at the other woman yet because she was seated on the same side of the table as she was and it would require to her to a bit of leaning. Amal however, seated across from her, obviously was able to see the woman quite well and the expression on Amal’s face was smug. Evidently the woman realized she’d been reprimanded within minutes of the Don’s arrival, by the Don himself, in a room full of his men.

I apologize, Don Lozano.Cianna’s voice carried from down the table.

Torq ignored her completely and looked to Alcee, how is the isla

It’s good.

He waved to the servers to begin pouring it for the rest of the tables and the quiet chattering around the room started

up again.
