Chapter 81
Akcee was tucked under Torg’s shoulder as they took Avalanche back down to the condo. Alcee watched the excitable “I think we need to move.”

y and then said quietly,
“We need to move. I’ve always lived in the city and even my parents home, while it’s massive, our green space was not huge. It never dawned on me to live in anything other than a condo or apartment.”
“Okay.” He was looking down at her in confusion.
She looked at Avalanche, “she’s a big girl and she needs to run and play, and our place isn’t conducive to it. While we were on the roof all I could think of was if Antero threw a ball and she ran off it, she’d skittered right off the ledge.”
“Intrusive thoughts?” he chuckled as they exited the e
elevator towards the condo.
“It’s not like we can take them to the park, Torq. I used to take Antero to the park. We were up there, and I got thinking I’d love to take her with Antero to the park and watch them run but we can’t because people want to kill him and if we take him out they might shoot his dog right in front of him and her frantic words were cut off as he lifted her off the floor pinned her against the wall and pressed his lips against hers.
He kissed her demandingly, his hands under her ass as her legs wrapped around his hips. The t–shirt she was wearing was riding high, her thighs exposed while he kept her held. His lips were punishing, bruising as they distracted her from the spiraling thoughts she was feeling.
“Better?” he whispered against her lips when he lifted his head away from hers.

“Better her than Antero.”
Suddenly the door was pulled open and Antero and Cicciu were standing there.
“Dad! Did you pick my mom up again without asking her?”
“Your mom was scared.” Torq quickly helped her back to her feet as Cicciu made a show of looking away from Alcee’s ass which was on display.
“Or what?” Antero looked around the hallway. “Is there spiders? Did you need to lift her away from the spiders?”
“Nope.” Torq passed the leash to Antero in a move to distract him. “Can you unclip her and take her to get a drink and her breakfast?”
“Yeah but what was moms scared of?”
She covered her flushed cheeks with her hands as Cicciu shot her a grin.
“Yeah, what was Alcee scared of?” Cicciu winked at her. “Was there snakes out here? Oh, wait, probably a worm. A one–eyed worm.”
Alcee turned bright red at Cicciu’s teasing. “Oh my god.”
“What are

doing with the door wide open?”
“Alcee and Torg were in the hallways and apparently Alcee was so scared she needed to be lifted up and held against a wall,” Cicciu tattled to Brunella with a grin. “Antero and I were guessing what she might be frightened of. Antero thought spiders but I thought perhaps a giant worm was why Alcee was climbing Torq like a tree.”
Brunella smacked him, “Cicciu.”
was only a thought.”
“Mom isn’t afraid of worms. She even put one in her mouth once.”
Antero’s comment made three of the four adults cackle while Alcee wished the ground would open up.
“My class did a thing where we tried tasting bugs. Mom ate a meal worm. I ate ants. One of the other parents ate a tarantula. Mom gagged really

“You gag on worms: Torq whispered in her ear and then grunted when he elbow connected with his ribs.
“Mom, why are you wearing Dad’s shirt?” Antero looked over at her.
“I was really tired when I went to bed and didn’t want to go looking for my pis, so I took the shirt your father left laying around,”
“He’s a slob, Mom. He just leaves things laying around. I don’t know how you share a room with him.” Antero hung up Avalanche’s leash and then moved to fill her water bowl. “He’s very messy.”
Told you so,” she muttered at him as Brunella nodded her agreement.
“I didn’t work, Alcee and I thought it was my job to pick up after my children and I created two adults who are incapable of wiping their own
backsides.”
