Three weeks later. I was having back pains for five hours now. I stood up and my water broke. I changed clothes and grabbed my suitcase. I walked out to my car carrying a towel. I put the suitcase in the back seat of the car. I then put the towel on the front driver seat before getting into the car. I backed out of the driveway and drove to the hospital. I parked the car in the parking lot got out opened the back door and took my suitcase out. I locked the car and walked into the emergency room.
May we help you a nurse asked? Yes, my water broke I am in labor. She brought a wheelchair over and I sat down. Is there anyone we need to call? No. And I do not want my name in the newspaper either. She wheeled me to the elevator and we went to the maternity ward. I was in labor for five hours before my little girl was born. She had looked like Ryder but had my green eyes. She was 6 pounds 12 ounces and 21 inches long. She had black hair like me. She was beautiful. Her name is Luna.
I had a car seat in the car so I didn't have to call anyone. You need to have someone drive you home the nurse said. I have my car in the parking lot. I drove myself here, I will drive myself home. I have not family or friends here. The nurse put Luna in the car seat and I got into the car. I drove away from the hospital. As I drove into the driveway I saw some prospects working next door. I got out of the car, I sat the suitcase down before lifting Luna into my arms and picking up the suitcase.
I walked up onto the porch and sat the suitcase down so I could unlock the door. I then picked the suitcase up and walked into the house shutting and locking the door behind me. I walked up the stairs and laid Luna in the baby bed. I took the suitcase across the hall and sat it at the foot of my bed before I walked down the stairs to make a cup of coffee and sandwich. After I cleaned up my mess I walked back upstairs and took my shoes off. I turned the baby monitor on and lay down.
I walked out of the garage and saw that Kathy's car was sitting in the driveway next door. She should be going into labor soon. I asked Norman if he had seen Kathy but he said not for a few days. I saw Donna drive in and park. She had just gotten off work. Have you seen Kathy I asked her? What do you care, Ryder? I love her that' why. She is my woman. Sure she is. You sure as hell have not talked to her for a month. She should be going into labor soon. I am worried about her. Ryder, Kathy can take care of herself. She has for years. I stormed into the club and Norman's and my bedroom. I took a shower and changed my clothes.
I dialed Kathy's phone. Finally you bitch. Why have you not answered my phone calls? I was in the hospital. I forgot about my phone. What do you mean you were in the hospital? I had the baby. I am coming over. Use the spare key I am hurting too much to walk down the stairs. She should not be hurting that much I thought. I ran out of the clubhouse and next door. I used my key to get in. I ran up the stairs. Kathy where are you? My room. I walked into her room and looked at her laying on the bed. I looked at Kathy as she stood up. She looked like shit.
