Chapter 655

Chapter 655

Cameron frowned at Bradley, not taking the towel he handed her.

She had just come back from a walk outside the hotel.

However, the elevator suddenly stopped working halfway up.

Not knowing what was going on, Cameron knocked on the door and called out hesitantly.

To her surprise, someone answered right away.

Seconds later, the elevator doors were pried open.

However, she hadn’t expected it to be Bradley.

He was dressed in a suit, his handsome face taut with effort, but even then, his profile was strikingly attractive.

While Cameron was still in a daze, she felt a sudden tug on her wrist, and Bradley pulled her straight out of the elevator.

It wasn’t until he handed her the towel that Cameron snapped back to reality.

Cameron asked flatly, Bradley, what is this all about?

Bradley looked genuinely surprised. You know me, Miss Yates?

Cameron sneered. Your acting is pretty impressive. You could win an award this year.”

Bradley looked at her, confused.

Acting? Does she think I’m an actor?he wondered.

Bradley frowned. Miss Yates, I think you’re mistaken. I’m a lawyer. My brother, Reginald Saunders, is an actor. It’s dangerous right now, not the time for small talk. Let’s get downstairs, fast.

With that, Bradley hurried toward the stairwell.

Then, he held the fire door open.

Cameron quickly followed him.

The hotel was a popular choice among the tourists, so it was packed with guests.

At this hour, most people were getting ready for bed.

But now, everyone was scrambling downstairs.

Some people were still in their regular clothes.

Others had just thrown on pajamas or even wrapped themselves in bedsheets.

Everything was a mess.

Bradley was on the 16th floor, and it took him quite a few minutes to race down all those flights of stairs.

Meanwhile, Cameron followed closely behind..

Down in the lobby, the hotel staff were busy trying to calm the guests.

They still had no idea what had actually caused the fire or where it had started.

But soon enough, the manager came out and announced that it was all just a false alarm. A curious kid had pressed the fire alarm, and that was what set. off this whole mess.

Still, the guests were making a fuss.

No matter the reason, it really was a hassle for everyone.

But some reasonable guests just shrugged it off and took the elevator back to their rooms.

Cameron and Bradley were among them.

The two of them shared an elevator back up, with nobody else around.

Bradley’s room was on the 16th floor, and Cameron’s was on the 23rd.

Bradley glanced at Cameron. Miss Yates, do you know me or something?

Cameron smirked sarcastically. Bradley, are you seriously pretending you have amnesia right now?

Bradley looked genuinely puzzled. Amnesia? What are you talking about?

Cameron didn’t take her eyes off Bradley, watching him closely.

She’d picked up some psychology tricks and was pretty good at reading people’s microexpressions to guess what they were really thinking.

From what Cameron could tell, Bradley really didn’t seem to be lying.

Cameron thought to herself, He really doesn’t remember me?

Ever since Elijah took her away from the castle that day, she hadn’t seen Bradley again.

And now, he actually didn’t remember her.

For a moment, Cameron couldn’t describe how she felt.
