Shifted Fate (by Alicia S Rivers) novel Chapter 627

Nix, I called to my wolf. I attacked without mercy, moving from wolf te the next as soon as I had killed the one in my jaws. The surrounding bodies grew into a morbid pile.

Yeah? She was standing ready.

Is Megan back to normal? I questioned as Tattacked the next brave wolf. My teeth sank into her shoulder, and I whipped my head back and forth, tearing the flesh away in a hunk. I spit it out before | lunged again, sinking my teeth around her neck, and I shook again. The crack was Loud, and the wolf went limp. I dropped her and spun as I felt the air move behind our group. I leapt over the two women I was protecting and spun. I landed on the back of a big male. He snapped at me, and we both saw the moons at the same time.

“Daddy!” Toya screamed as I dropped down.

“Sorry, Roderick.” I bumped his shoulder as I moved to protect the trio. Another wolf circled, and he growled. ” Check your mate. I will handle this mutt.” The grey wolf tried to sneak up behind us, and I pushed up from the ground, hopping over the charging wolf and landing behind him. He was snapping at Roderick’s hind leg, but grabbed his first. I braced my legs and whipped my body, releasing the wolf when he was in midair, sending him spinning back into the crowd.

I looked around and realized there was a giant space between us and the next attacking wolf. We had earned aLittle breathing space.

Megan is completely fine now, if not a little ashamed. Nix sounded amused as she watched my other wolf’s pace.

So stupid, how did I not notice? Megan shook her head.

“Enough,” I called out, and Toya’s family turned to me.” Not you. My wolves.” I smiled, and my tongue tolled out the side of my snout. “Nix, come up here with me. Megan was right about one thing. We need to work more on our magic and attack. If I lose focus while I’m searching for a spell, then you can keep attacking. Sounds like a plan?”

Nix pushed forward, and I felt our souls weave together.

Let’s do this. She was all for my plan, and I smiled again. I trotted over to my friend.

“How’s your mom?”

Toya blew out a breath. “Not great.” She was still limping, but at least she could put her foot down now. “The bone is still sticking out, and her leg is probably healing wrong.”

I turned to her and saw Toya was right. I laid down on my belly and offered a solution. “Do you want me to help?”

Toya’s mother looked at me, confused.

. “You can help?”
