Thinking like that, a smile blossomed on her face before she opened her mouth to instruct, "Andy, my baby! Search for me and see if there are any farms for sale. I prefer the ones closer to me and it would be perfect if it’s near the other farm."
{I will get right to it.}
"Thank you, son!"
{Anything for you, mother.}
"I know, darling, and I am thankful," she said smilingly, very grateful for everything Andrea had done for her from day one.
With Andrea on the job, Diamond knew that she didn’t have much to worry about.
Thinking about things she had to worry about, her mind suddenly recalled Nancy’s lawyer’s friend. Where was that person?
She hadn’t heard anything about her in some days. Could it be she was bailing, or that she had forgotten about her already?
But that wouldn’t be the case. If she had forgotten, wouldn’t Nancy remind her about it?
Anyway, since the other hadn’t reached out to her, she was going to pretend and see when the news would reach her.
With that worry settled Diamond started the ignition. However, before she could move the car, her phone started ringing.
"Who is it again?" she mumbled as she looked at the car monitor, but when she saw a string of numbers she didn’t know, her expression changed.
"Darling, check who is calling!" without wasting time, she left the matter to Andrea.
Moments later, Andrea came with a response, {Mother, it’s someone called Will Orlons. The team leader of the ghost merchant team.}
Upon hearing that, Diamond’s back suddenly straightened. "Damn! I was wondering what I had forgotten these past few days. It was this!" she couldn’t believe it as she looked at the numbers.
On the day she sent Ruby to school for registration, she received the ghost merchant team and was very happy about me, actually. She even made plans about the team and it coincided with the time she purchased the house, shop, and warehouse from that man who was leaving.
Having the ghost merchant team for her, who was hoarding a lot of food in her space, was something that made her excited. And yet, due to many reasons, that completely slipped out of her mind.
Was she getting old, or she was just being too ignorant of the rewards she was getting?
Getting scared by her thoughts, she shivered, goosebumps appearing on her hands.
’I need to start being serious and stop being complacent,’ she thought, her eyes flashing with a strange determination she had never had before.
Looking at the number still calling, she answered the call and waited to hear what this Will Orlons had to say to her.
[Hello! Am I speaking to Ms. Diamond Perry?] a rich male voice sounded from the other side as soon as she picked up.
This wonderful voice startled Diamond, but fortunately, it wasn’t to the extent of falling for a voice. Her lovers’ voices were still the best in her view.
"Um. It is I. You must be Will?" without beating around the bush and trying to remain mysterious, Diamond immediately revealed the other person’s identity.
Garnet, seeing Diamond moving, tagged along as well, guarding behind her rear like the faithful assistant she was.
Diamond didn’t return home after doing her errands but went to check on the buildings, which were getting renovated.
And seeing the progress of three buildings, her heart was settled.
When everything was done and dealt with, she returned home, where she was welcomed with a hot meal.
After feeding herself, she and Garnet held a meeting in the living room since there was no need for them to be secretive about anything.
"I got into touch with the producers for the music show to discuss further about your appearance and I can earnestly say that they really want you to be there. Your popularity is something that everyone at this moment is envious about and ......"
It was normal for people to be curious about things that they didn’t know much about. So, Diamond wasn’t that shocked anymore when hearing things like that.
It was great that more and more people were getting attentive to her. After all, what would be the use of doing all this when she couldn’t even get what she wanted?
"I will go to the show like I promised. So, you can sign the contract with them and make sure that the fee is worth it," Diamond said smilingly as she looked at Garnet.
"That is a given!" with a sly smile of her own, Garnet responded.
Who didn’t know how to take advantage of others?
